I can accept low attendance at league cup games or dead rubbers against Apoel.

But what the hell was that about last night?
Stoke was "only" 62,202 ( less than the new stadium capacity)

Is it performances lowering people's interest or are people really really not liking Wembley?

Midweek, non-CL game against a promoted team, always to be expected surely ?

Bearing in mind that 46k is still 10k more than we could fit in WHL I'd say that's not bad for a very cold Wednesday night, week before xmas.

I live in Hampshire so travelling up to Wembley is expensive and a ball ache on a Saturday, let alone a week night with work the next day.

We're doing pretty well overall for attendances in my view so this doesn't bother me.

And just over a week before christmas, people saving money or out at work christmas parties.

Didn't surprise me, kinda glad it wasn't more full, makes getting home a pain in the arse.

Exactly. Presumably, a large reason for the difference between filling the old and the new stadium will be down to people travelling into London from surrounding areas. You can do that on the weekend, but not really on a Wednesday night necessarily, because you just can't deal that easily with the pain of travelling midweek.

Do West ham struggle on a Wednesday night against their relegation rivals?

Do man United and Newcastle get half empty stadiums for midweek PL games?

What are Arsenal attendances like in similar games?

All genuine questions I don't know the answers to.

with wembley people can pick what games they want to go to near enough. The new stadium will have a smaller capacity so demand will be higher for smaller games because people will not be able to go to as many big games.

8pm on a cold, blustery, pissing down wednesday night, one week before christmas, against fucking Brighton. Wembley is a ballache to get to in time after finishing work at 6pm and having to fight your way through the london commute, and then not get home until near midnight... and then go to work again the next morning. Not worth it sometimes.
