He'd have a field day playing for City, some of the runs and the movement he makes are breathtaking.

Think this is an understatement. Silva and KDB have made Sterling look a world beater and that is because they are taking chances to find his runs. Son is always darting about, but as of the past couple months Eriksen (our only creative player for the majority of the season) hasn't been able to clear the first man with some of his dinks over the top. I'm hoping Lamela can step up and find Son on some of his runs.

He went off after a heavy challenge before the end of the game. Hopefully he didn't get a knock.

Pulled from Reddit but speaks volumes.

“Since the beginning of November Son has started 7 of 10 total games. Sonny has scored 6 goals and had an assist in those games.

In the league Son has started 5 out of the last 7 games. In those 5 games, he has scored 4 goals and assisted 1. He should have much more than 1 assist but our finishing has been an absolute shambles apart from Kane and Son (Kane has also scored 4 league goals)

We lost both of the games Son hasn't started, which was the bloody 2-0 to Arsenal and 2-1 to Leceister City. He also didn't start our loss to Chelsea earlier in the season. Starting Son gives us the best chance to win. We fell behind early last season and this season for the same reason. Ive said that roughly a thousand bloody times now

We have won 3 matches and drawn 2 in the league with Son starting but both of the draws were winnable. Sanchez got his red against Watford and Dele made a mistake for the opener against WBA.

We are lucky to have Son and Kane in brilliant form entering the City match. Dele is still a big part of our future but he has been ice cold in the league and probably should be dropped. 0 goals and 2 assists in his last 6 league appearances. I don't expect Alli to score 20 goals from midfield every season but his overall game has dipped this season as well. Eriksen is finally starting to heat up so I would like to see him start.

Last season Son scored a late equalizer off the bench against City and also was a huge reason when we took City apart in our 2-0 win at home. He needs to start this.”

I wonder if Son is out to prove me wrong because since I - last summer - said I was willing to sell him for a "good price" and IF a "quality replacement" was brought in I would not mind selling him, he' gone from strenght to strenght
It looks as if his first touch/ball control has improved and that he's almost stopped running into those "dead ends" he often used when he went on a run.

Son Heung-min ranks 26th in Europe’s five leagues

Son Heung-min, a Korean professional football player for Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, has become one of the top players running in Europe, according to UK-based Sky Sports.

Son, 25, ranked 26th in the top 100 players of 2017 from Europe’s top five leagues, which was published by the channel Tuesday. He was the only Asian player to put his name on the list, which ranked footballers in England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France based on certain criteria including scores and contribution.

“Son has risen to the occasion in terms of helping Kane with the goal scoring load at Tottenham, with 22 goals to his name this calendar year,” Sky Sports said. “Son also helped South Korea book their spot in the 2018 World Cup.”

The Korean forward scored 13 goals this year alone in the English Premier League (EPL), and had six and three goals each in the Football Association (FA) Challenge Cup and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League.

With his unique strength and competitiveness, Son was also considered the 69th most valuable player in Europe’s top five leagues by the International Center for Sports Studies (CIES) Football Observatory under the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) this January.

Meanwhile, it was Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona who took the No. 1 spot in the list. Harry Kane of Tottenham and Neymar of PSG were the second and third best players, while Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid, who won a record fifth Ballon d’Or trophy this year, came in the fourth place.

Apart from his goals, tireless running and all-round team play, his goal celebrations are fantastic.

I loved his shoe shine celebration following Kane's first goal to beat Shearer's record.

Totally agree. The kind of guy who's absolutely brilliant for morale around the place. I'd go as far as saying Son's character/personality is instrumental to our togetherness. He's like the glue for that collective feel good factor we see at times, I don't think we actually recognise that enough.

His movement is devastating as well, he exemplifies the phrase...making something happen as opposed to waiting for something to happen.

Just so direct but so intelligent with his runs.

Clinical finisher, who really improves us everytime he plays.

A really top player and one I hope we keep for years

I hope he's selected for the biggest games including Juve...

Great also to see so many Korean fans at the Soton game, spending loads, especially as so many others didn't bother

Just show how much he's a team player. The second goal for Kane yesterday was really brilliant from Son.

And I just looked back at Kane's goals compilations for this year, Son was totally all for giving Kane to score to help him chalk up the records. A key player, both on and off the field.

He has really fought hard to take that starting position. Deserved to be a starter now, it was the last position up for grabs and he took it. He has become a lot more dependable and consistent, especially his first touch. It used to be his poor first touch that would let him down, but he has improved it a lot. He also seems to be way more confident and just overall makes better decisions. He really just needs to play off instinct, love when he doesn’t overthink it. Get the pass, one touch to get away from the defender and bang.

He does give us that valuable quality of having another prolific goal scorer in the team.

Devastatingly selfless, thought his run behind and across the fullback to set up Kane's second was some of the sharpest attacking play I've ever seen.
But the part I really enjoyed was after Kane scored both Harry and Son started celebrating in different directions, but then son stopped and went over to celebrate as a group with Kane and company. Really shows how he puts whats best for the team ahead of everything else. Such a great attitude to go along with a brilliant skill set.

It makes me laugh when fans say we have no pace in attack. When the guy clearly is one of the fastest players in the squad if not the fastest. He has skill, great finisher and work rate. We're so lucky to have him. He must be worth at least 70m/80m in todays market.
