I’ve got to disagree. We won’t sign Mkhitaryan because of his age and wages but he was one of the best 10s while at Dortmund. I’d be very surprised if he was playing under Poch or Klopp that he wouldn’t be a star in England. Mourinho loves huge athletes, doesn’t understand ball players at all. KDB is just the most extreme example of this. Salah is another. Quite frankly at this point I think it is a badge of honour and a recommendation to purchase if Mourinho doesn’t fancy a player. I’m just surprised Mourinho isn’t trying to buy Sissoko from us, he would fit perfectly with Moirinho’s player purchasing brief - big, athletic, fast and not a footballer, the midfielder equivalent of Lukaku.

Henrikh is a talent, no doubt

I’m not saying either are as good as KBD, but Mkhitaryan is a hell of
a lot better than Jose is getting out
him. In many ways he’d be the ideal Eriksen rotation option. Very similar style players, and he’s used to pressing having played under Klopp.
There are cheaper options with less baggage out there.
I say if we sell Rose fleece United for all their worth, while letting all of their useless assets rot continuing to diminish on their value and being an expense to them. While we use the Rose money to buy Sessegnon and somebody like Julian Brandt .

Julian is a player I have never been impressed by and is much more of a traditional winger IMO. He is a Vardy of sorts without the goal scoring record (e.g. ball over the top and chase it down).

I would not want to spend my money on him and is not as popular as he once was as he hasn't grown any over the past couple years.

Surely Zaha is out of our price range now. He signed a new deal last summer and in reality the other Premier League clubs are so rich these days that they don’t need to sell, and certainly won’t cowtail to a Chairman who will never offer them what they want.

See Berahino.

I can only see us recruiting a top Premier League player for our first team if we pay a ridiculous fee or if the player’s contract is running out (like Wanyama).

From memory, the last time we signed a first team player for a big fee from another Premier League club was Dembele, circa 4 years ago. For £16m, a fee Fulham were happy with at the time, which shows how dramatically times have changed.

Unless Levy can start to open the purse strings we will need to focus on getting these players before they become established in the Premier League.

I think that’s the reality for us. Find a Richarlison and sign him like Watford did.

Brandt's been underwhelming for sure but he really has it all imo if he can put it together. Pace, power, technique, vision, just needs to be used correctly.

Julian Brandt is nothing like Vardy, and not even close to a traditional winger. He's right footed and plays on the left. That should be enough to realize he's not a traditional winger.
He's the same kind of player as Draxler imo

I think Brandt is a good player but not the player we need, I don’t think he is quick enough to be the game changer that we need, he is a lot more like Lamela, quick but not lightning.

Not trying to be a pace whore, but I think we need someone who will be able to blast past players.

Yeah I see the Draxler bit as a better comparison. Was more making the claim that his successes have come from stretching the back line with his pace. He is a technically gifted player, but hasn't grown in influence and I just don't see that coming from his efforts over the years.

Must say Barkley putting that scar on Twitter was an odd thing to do if you’re looking a for a new club. Looks like a very serious operation to his hamstring. I think that’s what Toby was talking about worst case if he came back to early and the hamstring got really badly damaged. Especially a hamstring would give me some serious doubts about signing him or at least I’m more concerned than before I saw the seriousness of the injury.

Brandt is nothing like Vardy, but he's not much like Draxler either. He is quick and he runs at opponents, he's a bit more direct than Draxler, but not as clever or incisive, but he also does get his head up and his final ball is more reliable than Zaha. He is playing more on the left this year, but has played right too, but not as an out and out winger, (who is these days) always more as an AM/wide forward type. At 4 years younger, I'd take him over Zaha, (who also plays on the left quite a lot as an inverted AM/forward)

Onomah . And Sessegnon, loaned back if we don't sell Rose.

Can't see that aiding our course for the rest of the season at all, personally. Unless you're just insinuating that we're not really going to do anything.

Another class finish by Zaha today. This lad is bubbling under at the moment. Poch could take him to boiling point.

He's a threat, the way he puts defenders on the back foot reminds me of Hazard when defenders back off him when he dribbles.

We need to move heaven and earth to sign him, he'll totally transform the way we'll attack and open up spaces for the likes of Eriksen, Kane and Alli.

Think he’s gone beyond bubbling under. Has to £40-50m player now. At that money would be a massive risk, I’d feel a bit dirty paying that for him.
