I like the idea of it, but cant help feeling he'll end up taking a smaller pay cut and ending up at the Chavs or Utd.
How anyone is of any opinion other than this is beyond me.Anyone who wouldn't want Bale back is a lunatic. Just imagining him and Kane battering sides is making me moist. Come home Gareth.
Question isn’t not wanting him back but is it worth the money to do so for a injury prone player when we could go get a few great upcoming players instead.Anyone who wouldn't want Bale back is a lunatic. Just imagining him and Kane battering sides is making me moist. Come home Gareth.
Love your posts, mighty Hercules. This has cheered me up no end after the mother of all days. Daughter was scheduled to have an op on her permanently dislocated thumb. Then after four hours of waiting, we're told it's off. I kicked off royally- not large, shouty rage but just pure, controlled logical ire. The anaesthetist walks out the room in anger and leaves us there like daft twats. I then complain about her unprofessionalism, citing that spending five weeks with your thumb permanently dislocated qualifies as an emergency. The surgeon takes pity and bumps my daughter into adult theatre and now, mercifully, she's had the op and demanding Pizza Hut. Checking this site and reading these posts are such a tonic in times of stress. What the loveable whore has posted has a lot of truth. We would like to do a deal, and do not believe wages would be an issue. We agreed a set buy-back fee, and have no knowledge on how much that is. However, RM seems to have got lost in its translation, believing they can get as much as 65-70m for him. No chance!
I personally wish it happens, but have my reservations, for reasons I will keep private. He would love to come back home to us though, if it is possible.

Lack of sleep, my daughter's pain and the stress of rowing with medical professionals can finish anyone off: small mercies for Hercules and other itks who somehow, lumps of salt or not, play their small part in our states of mind
But the Gareth Bale that left us is a different proposition to the Gareth Bale now touted around and it would be remiss not to mention his persistent injuries.Anyone who wouldn't want Bale back is a lunatic. Just imagining him and Kane battering sides is making me moist. Come home Gareth.
I know this sounds like a strange question... But, I'd imagine that if there are any concerns at all, it wouldn't come from a boardroom level. In short... not a revenue issue.
But there could be a player/team chemistry issue that Poch has his own considerable reservations about. If I were him, I'd be very concerned on how he would integrate with the team, and what impact that would have on their relationships. For example, Harry loves the club, and I think takes great pride in being the face of the team. But with the arrival of Bale, that could negatively impact his self-perceived role. Same could be said about Alli.
As for Poch - the success of his team is contingent on how they flow together as a cohesive unit, representing his training and tactics. Introducing a wild card into the mix such as Bale, could be highly disruptive. Is he a team player? Would he commit to the press? Would he defer to Harry? These are all understandable concerns that can't be determined unless you experience it first hand. Which in turn, makes it a very, very expensive risk. I'm sure it would have to come down to a conversation between the player and the coach. And in turn, conversations between the coach and his key players. If all were in alignment and excited about his vision for how they'd play together... great. But if there was the slightest hint of reservation from any of them... I'd expect we'd end our interest.
So much this. Putting aside the (unrealistic) notion that we'd be getting Bale in his prime (given that he has been riddled with injuries in recent years), I cannot possibly fathom why we would fork out tens of millions in transfer fees and wages for a 29-year-old, when we clearly aren't prepared to fork out anywhere near that amount to get considerably younger players.I hope it's not true. Why spend that much on an injury prone 29 year old. Cast aside the romanticism and throw the money at Pulisic.
I think it could come down to a couple of reasons why:So much this.
