Loris was under huge pressure today but let's accept he is not an elite level keeper. E.g. de gea.. Good, the best we've had in decades, but used to think he was significantly better than he really is. Reality check.

Winks... no bollocks. Turn fffs! A bloody good back and sides passer tho, credit where it's due! He's an integral part of our U-shaped possession that never gets close to their box. On the rare occasion he carries the ball I'm waiting for him to leave the ball behind him.

Dier... typical English player that English football produces... and why England team will never win a trophy and bore you to death

Ali... what does he do now that he's lost his ability to get round players.??

Agree , that real Madrid game maybe raised his profile too much.

He isn't a Dele..or at least wat Dele was. He needs to be eased in slowly , likely in a mid 3 so not to have so much responsibility.

He was poor like everyone but really don't think tactically we helped him. First half we set up with him way too far forward in some reverse Sissoko LCM. Poch switched it but the game was already getting away from us by then.
Do think he's playing a bit too much for where he is in his career. We need Wanyama back desperately.

Lol just thinking back to the game I frikkin love lamela and his attitude. We score a consolation in stoppage time and he runs and picks the ball up like we can still make a comeback:D
He never gives up
Madness not bringing him on at the start of the second half. Exactly the infectious commitment and energy we needed.

Sounds like we need to cash in on some players before the world cottons on

Dele clearly has talent but I reckon, based on everything we’ve seen from him, that he’s hit the ceiling in regards to clubs he can play for. He’d get 8 games a season at City ( the only clear better side than us in the league ) and would get laughed out of Madrid and Barca at the unveiling when they see his basic level of technique doing keep ups.
The Madristas would tear him to shreds if he made that move. He’d be back in England within 12 months.

I put up a nine foot Christmas tree today; took me fucking ages and I didn't lose my shit when I couldn't unknot the lights. Felt Christmasy afterwards and then I had to watch that shower of festive fecal flakes dampen my Christmas spirit. Hugely pertubed

I don't think it's just Alli, Rose and Dier that have got too big for their boots. Some "supporters" are following suit.

We got a beating away to one of the best teams in Europe. We weren't the first and we won't be the last. Winks has been outstanding for the best part of a season and some of you ****s want him sold to hull after a few dodgy games, at 21 years of age.

Fuck my old boots.

Time is on his side. He could mature into an incredible player. One of the very best in world football

I just worry he feels he's already at Madrid level and isn't working on improving and adding to his game

Alli has had too many people whispering in his ear now since the start of the season, fucking brand Alli off the field meanwhile the important part on it has taken a nose dive. Not impressed.

Same goes with one or two others and it's disheartening watching it as a fan.

I'm sure people will jump to say, if they suddenly turn it around form wise all will be forgotten and that's most likely, but just lately it feels the team ethos has taken a back seat to 2 or 3 key members for self gain.

What’s embarrassing is Tottenham supporters who think we are embarrassing

Man City are possibly the best team in Europe playing at home and at the top of there game
Whats even more embarrassing are supporters who were not embarrassed by our performance. By the way its "their" not "there". If you are going to be snide, at least be bulletproof!

Sorry but here are the home truths

Lloris 5 - some excellent camera saves but 2 soft bits of keeping for sterling and the de brunye goals

Trippier 0 - not good enough for this level we need to sell I’m sorry. He’s really dreadful against top opposition

Dier 4 - his head is not in a Tottenham shirt it’s as simple as that. Brilliant until the second half where he gave up on his team mates and himself.

Vertonghen 6 - the only player to try

Rose 5 - he tried more than some but least he’s honest enough to tell us he wants out as he can see it for what it is!

Dembele 3 - I’m sorry but his best days are gone it’s time to put this dog down.

Tom Carroll..oh sorry Harry Winks 3 - out of his depth from the moment the team sheet got announced simply not good enough and hugely overrated by all our fan base in reality within 3 years he will be playing for a hull etc, unless we slip back to mediocrity as that’s the only way he belongs in this team.

Eriksen 2 - from the get go he pranced about was like a fairy in every single 50/50 since that World Cup break something weird has gone on with him.

Son 2 - he tried but there’s nothing really he can do at fault for the gundogan goal as he left him run.

#Dele20 0 - fuck off mate you haven’t made it yet! Although you and your entourage seem to think you have he’s in real danger of his whole bubble bursting. Would have done us as a team a favour if he seen red as that’s the only way poch is leaving him out.

Kane 5 - don’t let your love for this club cloud your judgement wnd hold your career back you deserve trophies.

Poch 0 - more stubborn than AVB his inept ability to make changes or rest players is a joke....how on gods green earth did he not sub Trippier off?!

Lamela - first name on the team sheet for now for me

Don’t let your love for the club hold you back?

I don’t usually do this but...

Just fucking fuck off will you! :ROFLMAO:

Pathetic

Reality is there’s Man City and the rest. They have completely outplayed Chelsea, United, Arsenal and Liverpool, so what made anyone think we would be different ? Especially this year when we are playing nowhere near as well as the past 2 seasons. In recent matches, other than Son and cameos from Lamela who has really looked good ?

I don’t want to target any one player for that decline but it is fair to point the finger at Dele who has contributed so little this season other than against Madrid. How can he be worth his place when his game consists primarily of showboating, diving, fouling and losing possession ?

Dier is an odd case . He’s mixed in some really good performances at the back with the occasional nightmare like today and of course there was his gift to Jose at Old Trafford.

As for Pochettino’s team selection , other than Lamela for Dele , what else could he have done ? The full backs are much of a muchness which is why we have no clear first choice on either side. Leave out Dembele or Winks for who ? Sissoko ? Dier , with Davies or Foyth in CD ? Does anyone really think any of those changes would have made a difference ?

Will we see any activity in January ? Unlikely, unless Rose, Dier or Dele are allowed to leave which I’m sure would only happen if we have replacements lined up . I would bring Onomah back who offers a slightly different version to Winks who appears to no longer be one M word , Metronome but instead has Metamorphasized into the second coming of Scott Parker. We need Wanyama back so badly.

It was a reality check or in terms of this season’s form, a reality confirmation and we just have to suck it up and hope we win the battle for 4th Place , somehow get past Juventus and treat the FA Cup as a trophy we want to win.

We probably needed that defeat to puncture the bubble we’ve been floating around in but, Jesus Christ, some of these reactions are ridiculous.

Sometimes an opponent takes you apart. What ever happened to taking it on the chin and moving on?

Ok, we’re clearly not as good as we were last season but if you’ve got an issue with not having enough quality to compete with City, I think Levy is the man to call out. Our squad depth beyond 13-14 players is weak as piss.

When things get stale Poch has nothing to freshen it up. And things have gone a bit stale.

He’s just 21. He’ll improve just like Poch improves everybody he coaches. He just needs time. He’s not ready to start in matches against teams like City though. We need to find a new 6 in the summer and give Winks time to grow behind him.

He’s older than dele. How old is sane 21? He was best player in the pitch. I’m not gonna write winks off just yet. But I have a lot more doubts than I did. He is probably ok if you to come 5-7th. I’m just not sure he has enough variation in his game.

It’s ironic that you say Dier is the typical English player that English football produces!

I’m in your camp. I think my want for Winks to be the next Modric might have clouded my judgement.

He’s clearly, clearly not the next Modric, but that was unrealistic. Unfortunately I think he might be a top 8 player, at best.

Do not care what anybody says there is obviously something massively wrong behind the scenes or with this team at the moment we are carrying 4-5 passengers but poch is hands are tied it looks like.
One does wonder if Poch sees something bubbling under hence his desire to tie up all our summer business in Jan. we won’t look as anttractive a prospect next season if we don’t get CL and more then one player starts throwing his toys out the prem. obviously we aren’t quite there yet, but we have been playing as if we are in the final weeks of the season. We just look flat.

Totally disagree about Dier. He had put in enough performances to show his heart is here. His head isn't being turned by money. It's being turned by playing time.

Rose and Alli for me have their heads in new shirts. Alli needs dropping. Unleash Lamela in that position.
Playing time? He’s started in virtually every match since we bought him. But should he be starting? If everybody is healthy what is Dier’s place in our starting 11? He’s our second best DM. He’s our fourth best CB. He shouldn’t be a nailed on starter. He’s a good player that may one day may be a great one. But he shouldn’t be played over players that are right now just better than him. It’s as simple as that.

Vorm needs a run of games, let's be real anyone who thinks he wouldnt have done atleast as well as Hugo recently (pretty poorly) if not better is deluded.

Alli is having an extremely poor season
