As I've been saying says it all if true. Palace can pay better wages than us fucking joke
And they play in a shiny new 1 billion pound stadium...Didn't think so.
City had theirs build by the city of Manchester, did they not? United developed theirs over decades.
We are a properly run company. Palace must have massive differences between the top earners and the rest, we don't.
I will always say if a player wants to leave so they can make a million or two more on top of the millions they're already getting with us, the FUCK THEM!!!
If Kane does that, then FUCK HIM TOO. There I said it.

you know what else, Townsend is exactly the kind of player who should still be in the squad... can't think of any other player that could boost the strength of our squad for the relative peanuts we expect our players to be happy with.

I mean compare Andros Townsed to motherfckn Sissoko or N'KantDo -fucksake. Too bad for Poch's ego and our greedy money-driven owners

Don't agree with Townsend but I was disappointed that we let Bentaleb go. Down to attitude which I was hoping we would have tried to work with given his age.

I think todays game and in fact this season has shown that we are unlikely to ever win the PL. The last couple of seasons when the top sides were off their game was our chance but we blew it both times, mainly because we didn't strengthen the side when we should and again dodgy late deals by Levy. What ever anyone thinks of Leicester it will always show in the record books that they won the title and we were second. I'm afraid that the way the club is set up at the moment there is no possible way to the title for us. Infact we are likely to struggle to make CL next season. The minute we let Walker go to our top rival things changed and with Rose out for months just added to the problem. The other players are looking at Walker winning the title in his first year after nothing in 8 years with us and the little matter of treble wages and anyone that thinks we wont have at least 3 or 4 key players going in the summer are fooling themselves.
The other point is Poch is great with young potential talent and bringing them along but has he got the ability to take the team further. I'm sure many spurs supporters will say yes but I'm not sure and I think a lot of the top clubs that have been mentioned interested in him will be thinking the same. Which may or may not be a good thing.
City, Utd,Chelsea and Liverpool will get stronger while we will probably either remain the same but more likely to get weaker.

I think we may have had our bit of excitement for a few years.

They key point you make is this:
30million on bang average Sissoko - should have been spent on wages for the top dogs. That simple. And it still baffles me that we don't operate like that.
If your top player (Kane) is on 100k a month - that's near on 5 million a year....relative to a 30million blow out on Sissoko - it doesn't make sense.
When you're making 25 million from a 5 year deal on nothing but football (exluding advertising) then moving for an extra 10 million is pure greed. I have no sympathy or understanding for that. Are you seriously trying to tell me that these players are in the right? They have a 15 year career with such wages, it's sickening. So if they want to go, there's the door.

Yes they’re a brilliant side and have probably the best manager possibly ever at the top level at least but due to their money they’re on another level to us, their CAM de bruyne cost about £50mil and is one of best mabye 5-10 players in the world same with aguero, in comparison we have dele alli £5mil from MK dons.

We can’t compare or compete. But you have to say pep is some manager getting them playing like that. Makes me wonder if we had him as manager and poch had the man.city squad how the match would’ve panned out, I think we’d have won it under pep tbh I think he’s that good.

At least we will have paid off the new stadium because that's the sort of money it will take.

Completely agree.

Townsend on the pitch = the ball less on the pitch and more in the stands.

The ball less on the pitch = less chances for City to attack and score.

Our players were exposed today. Some of them, like Trippier, were simply shown up for what they are, which is a reasonable pro who is no match for an elite opponent. Others have been shown up to be pretty arrogant, and Dier's attempt at a flick and run in the lead up to their penalty was ridiculous decision-making. And even more so later on when he was left looking like a bloody incompetent as City walked the ball into our net.

very disappointing that we were swatted aside so easily. I expected more from us. We need more strikers, and I'm getting tired of just having Kane and a back-up now for 2or 3 seasons. That model, despite Kane's excellence, is too limiting.

It's also not clear that this side has turned the corner on winning mentality, which it looked to have done at their imperious best by the end of last season. The 3-2 loss to west ham after taking a 2-0 lead seemed like an oddity, but maybe it was a harbinger of more to come with some players thinking they've arrived when they've won fuck all and don't look likely to change that unless surrounded by elite players in anther team.

Verts, Llloris, Aurier, Eriksen, Toby, Son, Dele, Lamella, Rose, Davies, Sanchez, Wanyama - no one decent there... Jesus wept!
They have won so much for us haven't they?
If you have a group of decent players you would expect to add to them like any top club does not Nkudo, Jensen, Lorente, Sissoko etc.
Anyway with another season without a trophy half of those you mentioned could be gone next season then who do we get. We can't keep relying on our academy it will dry up at sometime and you can only play so many young inexperienced players. As good as those players are we still can't beat the top sides.

I truly don't agree about Guardiola. He has NEVER managed anything other than the creme de la creme. And his career at Bayern (the weakest of the three IMO) has to be seen as a flop considering he took them over after they'd won everything possible - something he couldn't repeat. Put him into a squad of lesser talent, who simply can't execute his philosophy and let's see how he does.

What, like Real Madrid?
Today was a tough lesson, that we can't exchange blows with the top sides. We can beat them, but we need to be smart about it. Today we weren't. But the quality is there. We did keep City very quiet at the beginning of the second half. We are not going to face anyone of that intensity again this season. Even in Europe.

Agreed.
Our flaws were exposed.

To compete we need and have needed some of the below for 2-3 seasons:
-A capeable back up to Kane who can compete with him and play alongside him when needed. Batsyuai would’ve been good enough but we got Jansen and Llorente instead.
-A class RB to replace walker, Aurier seems decent but why didn’t poch play him today, loyal to trippier or does he not trust him yet?
-A creative top class CM (the Gomez fella from Barca)
-2 extra attacking options, at least one with pace any of( marhez,Zaha, bale,Barkley)

Even if we got all of that we’d still have struggled today but if our line up was the below I think we’d have had more of a chance. Injuries have also effected us, against city we simply need our best team and Toby and victor are big losses.

Lloris

Aurier
Toby
Sanchez
Jan
Rose

Gomez
Dier

Son
Eriksen
Marhez/Bale

Kane

With attacking options on the bench with quality :
Zaha,Alli,Batsuhai,Winks,Dembele,Barkley

we are a good 3-4 players away from where we need to be and we need to keep all our current lot.

Fuck the stadium I want to win trophies and it just isn't going to happen.
Wow... That has to be a first. So you would rather squander money on mercenaries who will fuck off anyway, than build an evironment where such wages will actually be affordable?
