I truly don't agree about Guardiola. He has NEVER managed anything other than the creme de la creme. And his career at Bayern (the weakest of the three IMO) has to be seen as a flop considering he took them over after they'd won everything possible - something he couldn't repeat. Put him into a squad of lesser talent, who simply can't execute his philosophy and let's see how he does.
I think the whole he’s only managed top aides excuse is a bit wrong. I think if he managed our team and we set up how his teams do in a 4-3-3 coached by him with a line up of the below + mabye strengthening in 2 positions, and you take this man.city team and say pep has never coached them and they have Mancini in charge let’s say, I think our team with 2 years of peps coaching would win. Yes he manages teams with top players but his teams don’t just win they absoloeuly suffocate and batter teams and you have to understand that is just as much down to the impecible and unique coaching ability for the team and players on and off the ball as it matters the actual quality of the players. Real Madrid once bought the galacticos but peps Barca team would tear that team apart. Trust me he’s an incredible manager and poch still has a long way to go hence his one away win vs top 6 in 18 away games.

It's not often I put this team and the manager down, today though I really thought we had a chance if we treated it like the Real, Liverpool and Dortmund home games. We didn't though and there was far too much space in the middle and most possession we had we always looked to keep ball, rather than hurt them.

Having 47% possession in an away game like this tells the story, whereas in the aforementioned games our possession stats were well down. We were so scared of their attack that we kept trying to pass it around our defenders rather than aiming for the lower percentage ball, which was weird because at times when we did go long the City defence didn't even challenge Kane for the header.

Admittedly without Sanchez and Alderweireld we were always going to be a bit shaky at the back and playing 4 it's going to be tougher too, especially without a designated DM, too many times though Dembele and Winks didn't turn with the ball and just passed it back to Lloris, Verts or Dier.

Today we needed to invite them on to us and close the gaps between the players, yes we tried to hit them on the break leaving Son and Kane up there but they were isolated because we never won the 2nd ball and got the chance to use them on the counter. Because the gaps between the midfield 4 (Alli, Dembele, Eriksen and Winks) were too big even when we did grab a nick of the ball the simple quick pass was hardly ever on.

Pochettino's post-match interview was telling and I believe lessons will be learned from today, City are a very good side but so are we and sometimes a defeat will give you a better lesson than a victory. I still believe we'll finish top 4 and go deeper in the CL, which at the start of the season I'd have been happy with. COYS

Agreed.
Our flaws were exposed.

To compete we need and have needed some of the below for 2-3 seasons:
-A capeable back up to Kane who can compete with him and play alongside him when needed. Batsyuai would’ve been good enough but we got Jansen and Llorente instead.
-A class RB to replace walker, Aurier seems decent but why didn’t poch play him today, loyal to trippier or does he not trust him yet?
-A creative top class CM (the Gomez fella from Barca)
-2 extra attacking options, at least one with pace any of( marhez,Zaha, bale,Barkley)

Even if we got all of that we’d still have struggled today but if our line up was the below I think we’d have had more of a chance.

Lloris

Aurier
Toby
Sanchez
Jan
Rose

Gomez
Dier

Son
Eriksen
Marhez

Kane

With attacking options on the bench with quality :
Zaha,Alli,Batsuhai,Winks,Dembele,Barkley

we are a good 3-4 players away from where we need to be and we need to keep all our current lot.
Not going to happen Rose is off in Jan to Utd, Dier will follow once the wolves start circling around Ali oops gone. Levy will not pay the wages for the players you mention. Mark my words if we get anyway in Jan it will be the likes of Sessengon from Fulham young talent which will be sold for a massive profit. The biggest worry for me is getting Toby sorted because if he doesn't extend that will fuck us right up. Just think Walker, Rose and Toby gone we had the best defence in the league. But we are not a selling club my fucking arse!!!

They have won so much for us haven't they?
If you have a group of decent players you would expect to add to them like any top club does not Nkudo, Jensen, Lorente, Sissoko etc.
Anyway with another season without a trophy half of those you mentioned could be gone next season then who do we get. We can't keep relying on our academy it will dry up at sometime and you can only play so many young inexperienced players. As good as those players are we still can't beat the top sides.
You know what makes me laugh, years ago if a player was an ‘international’ we’d be ecstatic that he was in our team, let alone the subs bench, just shows how hard our league is with clubs who have a bottomless pit of cash to waste...

I don't disagree with you on Guardiola's quality but he would not have done the rebuild job Poch has done to get us to this level. We need step back and remember what a state we were in back in 2014 and Guardiola also has never had to worry about balancing the books or not getting his transfer targets.

Almost 90 pages and most of it grown men menstruating over a loss to City and now the Spurs failing because of XYZ ...

The last two games I don't think have reached the same number of pages and we won those games.

You couldn't make it up.

The curse that is the smartphone... It's never too late for one last post from under the covers.
Of all the things in the world to worry about at midnight in the middle of December, Tottenham Hotspur, transfers, Daniel Levy and Enic are pretty low on my list.

We have already gone quite far to where we where when they took over to be fair
Maybe but we’re in our least successful period in terms of trophies in 70 years.
We used to at least be guaranteed a few FA cup wins back in the day. Not now.

Let that sink in before we praise Enic too much.
