Whether we lose or not, Burnley are no Leicester. They have been getting incredibly lucky with breaks at corners and free kicks etc against the lesser teams

We should be beating these

I think it’s a great game to bounce back in

For us, burnley away will be as difficult as city or chelsea away ... I will take draw against burnley

Come off it. At home they won against Palace, Newcastle, Swansea, Watford and Stoke. They drew with Huddersfield and West Ham and lost against West Brom, and Arsenal. It won't be a pushover but to say it will be as difficult as going against City or Chelsea is nonsense.

When was the last time we scored goals from free kick or corner?

When was the last time we scored goals from free kick or corner?

To note, we've conceded a goal from a corner in 3 of the last 4 games. We must be better on Saturday else it will be 4 from 5.

We don't seem as potent in attacking corners again.

we've played Man City, Man Utd and Arsenal away already, still fairly confident we'll finish 2nd

City will be crowned champions in March

After today's results, looks like europa.

This weekend sucked, but we pulled back 4 points on Arsenal and Liverpool in the week before so that's a bit of a knee jerk!

Something doesn't feel quite right about us this season mentally so I am concerned, but there's a long way to go and we will look a lot more balanced with Sanchez back and hopefully Wanyama soon too. Still at least a month without Toby unfortunately

Massive game this weekend. Arsenal play Liverpool on Weds so if we can get the win at Burnley (tough on current form) we will make ground on at least one.

Don't like that fact we play on the Tues and Thurs 1st week of January, no other teams have games that close together and means we'll be playing catchup on everyone else.

Cannot remember the last time we didn't have a league game for a full week after Boxing Day game, was West Ham at home pushed back or something ?

just reading the thread on it being pushed back to 4-Jan because of a Peter fucking Pan pantomime, Christ !!!
If anything I think it does us a slight favour, having that rest after Boxing Day could be pretty useful to us.

You think we’re going to overhaul a 10 point gap on Utd? I’ll have some of what you’re smoking please.

Best we can do is 4th place and with the Wembley factor I would have taken that at the start of the season.

Unless we start playing better I don’t think we’ll even be getting that.

We are still in a decent position to get third or fourth, but there is just something that doesn't seem right this year and I can't put my finger on it.

We don't have a very definite style of play this year..
Several Key members are out of form most weeks.
Harry Kane scores goals, but also look out of form a lot of games.
Dele is slow and not scoring as much as he should.
We don't do intense pressing anymore.
We don't look solid at the back anymore.

And then, when we play in CL we look like the team from 1 year ago...

My one request would be - Back to basic - High intense pressing game! I don't care if we run out of steam the last 5 games - That style was superentertaining when we did it before.

You think utd are going to go through a real bad run for that to happen?

Not ruling it out but they've not dropped many silly points this season compared to the other post-Ferguson seasons.

And Mourinho's defensive style of play should in theory prevent a bad run because even though they may not create many chances, they keep clean sheets and that means only one chance needs to be taken.

IMO its 4th or europa. City, utd and the chavs then us pool and arsenal for 4th.

I really dont want to be dealing with europa league football. That is a trophy we should be winning but poch never takes it seriously.

gaining 10 points over 20 games isn't impossible, Utd are no City

and it will only be 7 points over 19 games as we'll beat them in January :)

I think that’s pretty optimistic. The last six weeks has absolutely crucified us. We will need to be excellent for the rest of the season to overhaul United, many more slip ups, and we will be well off the pace for fourth too.

Burnley is a must win game this week, and that says it all.

I cant see getting anywhere near 4th on what ive seen watched so far.
The problem with the team is that we cant rotate anywhere like other sides can given the injuries we have had.

As disappointing as some of the recent performances have been we are still only 2 points down compared to the same stage as last season, one of arsenal or Liverpool are guaranteed to drop points this weekend so beat Burnley we are back up 2 places at worst.

I think all things considered we aren’t doing that bad with Wembley, key injuries etc and that Man City running away with it is making things look worse than they are
