Don’t think he is training yet.
Write him off until the summer then. Gunna take him at least a couple of months to get up to speed. I'd like to think we'd have Sess and Barkley wrapped up before the summer window opens. If Rose was to go I think we could use that money on a Zaha etc

Sessegnon - likely
Barkley - possible, depending on his injury
Zaha - would be a great signing but I think that ship has sailed sadly
Completely agree with you about Sessegnon. My only question about him is in how the club views him. Wingback or wing? Honestly don’t have a clue.

I’d like to see us make a run at Leon Bailey in the summer. Fantastic young wing prospect similar in style to Zaha. He’s probably within our price range, is on reasonable wages and we’ve had successful dealings with Bayer before. It makes too much sense for us not to give them a call.

What is it about the injury that you think would put us off Barkley? I know we had the discussion in the Summer about leaving it until January because he won't play before then but presumably he is on the mend now.
If he isn't ready to play yet he would still be in and able to aclimatise and probably get some playing time before the end of the season meaning he'll be up to speed and ready come the new season, unless you think he's crocked for good and won't play again.

I agree with you - I'd be happy to get him now and help him acclimatise.

Most of the players we have been heavily linked with I would gladly take but surely people dont believe that we are going to make signings that will have significant affect this season??
I definitely hope we are busy but I am not expecting changes that will suddenly fire us into the top 4. That doesnt mean Levy & co should be doing nothing, just that much of the work might be happening behind the scenes for the summer.

Sessengon (x2) - 1 of them is playing for a mid table championship side and the other is too young for even that. Would be great signing(s) but without doubt for the future rather than present.

Barkley - ITK laughed off his injury as fictitious, turns out it was not only true but more serious than any reports. Presuming he manages to pass a medical, we manage to come to an agreement on price and he chooses us over Chelsea. He still is very very unlikely to have a huge impact this season after the injury.

Zaha - This guy is a different scenario, in fact I would say he more than likely would have a significant impact for us. Unfortunately I think people are kidding themselves if they think Crystal Palace are going to let their best player go, mid season, whilst their in a relegation battle. They may as well just give up now if they sold Zaha in January.

Richarlison - Hasn't even completed a full season with Watford. Looks a decent player but not a deal I realistically can see being made after such a short time in England.

Manchester City ready to rival Arsenal and Chelsea in Wilfried Zaha transfer chase
Like they need another fucking player. Makes me so mad how they can just blow all of us away with their spending. Sorta sucks the fun outta of it sometimes. And makes me utterly despise what they are doing to the game. I can respect Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal for being financial behemoths, as they at least rely on their brand and operational revenue. But City and Chelsea.... ugh.

Seeing as it's City, probably both ?

Sterling having the season of his life only to be discarded for a stroppy near-30 year old who is phoning it in at his current club

Otamendi performing very well, scoring crucial goals and entering his prime years but not good enough to quench the desire for a shiny new toy by the name of Virgil van Dijk. It's been a whole year since they last bought a center back after-all!

Hollow entity (n)

But if we want him we want him for the long term not just this season, write him off until the summer and we may be writing him off completely.
Unless the injury has ended his career I don't see the point.

I'm not sure I follow you. If we sign him now then that's short term thinking isn't it? Signing him in the summer allows him to go straight into a Poch preseason and would be very much a long term signing. We could agree a pre-contract and tell him to just focus on getting fit at Everton. From a business perspective this makes the most sense and you can bet Levy is thinking this way too.

We can't agree a pre-contract in January.

Do we want him? Do we think he will get over his injury? Would he benefit from working with our medical team? Would he benefit from working with our coaching staff for six months more than six weeks?
Would buying him in January ensure he didn't go elsewhere?
If the answer to those questions is yes then why leave it until summer?
How is that short term?
