Did you choose to ignore that Shaw would be the Rose replacement??

If Rose was happy, I’d keep him but everything we have heard has suggested that he wants a move back up north.

Shaw, is much younger and didn’t have all the injury problems he’s had at Utd with Poch so I’m hopeful that he can overcome them.

When fit, he’s a very good player.

The excess Rose cash allows us to buy a pacey, young player who scores goals and has huge potential and Barkley who Poch clearly rates and gives us greater depth.

Not sure how we are ‘weaker’ as you suggest as Davies has been playing well all that time when Rose was out and Shaw is very talented.

Rose is better than Davies and Shaw, it's that simple.

We've not heard anything from Rose regarding a move for awhile, it seems it's our own fans that are perpetuating the talk.

There has been an undercurrent of him being difficult all season. He’s a stubborn character and he’s not going to change his opinions from the summer. He’s just being quietly chippy around the place and hoping Poch will just get sick of him and sell him to United, it’s pretty obvious.

Fair enough. We look to move for Barkley or wait until the summer?? Will we look to loan out a few of the youngsters?

Not fit
Maybe on the youngsters
Did you really think we’d do anything this window? Come on now. Last time we made a January transfer was Holtby like 5 years ago and it was a pre contract made immediate in the dying days.

If Levy doesn't beef up the squad but lets us meekly fall out of the top 4 then he's an utter fool imo.

Why is anyone surprised by the comments from JJ that it will be a quiet window during January as it always is.
We don't have interest In buying until the summer which again will be late on a lot of it with WC taking place anyway so no surpises there again.

Easier said than done especially at a time when players cost a premium, I'd be surprised if anyone comes in, I would have liked Bakley but there's no point if he's not fit.

How do you know?

Hmm...that's a toughie. It could be his body language. It could be his on pitch persona. Or it could it be the TV interview he gave where he slagged off the club as small time, who pay shit wages, and everyone from Levy, Poch (taught me nothing I was already brilliant) and his "google to know them" team mates?

His body language and on pitch persona seemed fine yesterday. None of that explains how any of us know he won't change his opinions.

Even if Barkley isn't currently fit I'd still prefer to get him in January. Enables him to acclimatise and get used to our training methods. Might be able to contribute in actual competitive action towards the end of the season, which will help with the run-in.
