Im not assuming... Mane' and Salah are brilliant. Vvd has been a quality defender. Keita is a top tier player. Sure they might get one or two wrong... But we no different.

If you admit they might get 1 or 2 wrong then stop shitting the bed and wait and see how it all pans out.

At the end of the day we’ve been a cut above them for quite a few years now. Not saying that can’t change but I don’t see any need to overly worry about them. They’re losing their best player. We’ll keep our best player (who happens to be one of the best players in the world) and I’m sure we’ll recruit 1 or 2 more and like you say, we’re no different from Liverpool some will work out some won’t.

Honestly think VVD is a fraud and is going to be exposed by Liverpool's system. He's going to be mugged off weekly Harry Kane style.

Im not shitting the bed or lambasting us... I merely admire how a rival team who are not in the same realm financially as City/Chelsea/united have gone about acquiring their targets..... Many here scoff at their business.

Im merely saying their recent signings are QUALITY additions to their squad.

Who will Coutinho’s replacement be if he goes?

Im not a liverpool supporter.. I haven't the slightest idea nor does it concern me.

But you would think IF he were leaving now in January, then Liverpool would not have played him...

What if they've spent £135m and still don't win major trophies?

Then they know different to so many other teams us included who have spent vast somes and have nothing to show for it.... By vast i am not talking what city/chelsea/Madrid/Psg etc spend....

At least they not sitting still and are determined to get top 4 and win trophies along the way.

On what basis do you think that the club doesn't understand that the market has changed? You genuinely think they haven't realised?

It had changed last year and the year previous and we still finished above teams that had spent significantly more and that make significantly more than we do.

To say you detest our net spending culture is honestly a shocking statement. Really? Detest? Especially over a period where we are putting a shit ton of money into the club itself, to have one of the most attractive setups in the UK for years to come - something which can certainly attract players of the caliber we need.

Having the most amount of money doesn't fix all problems and teams around us are regularly throwing huge sums of money around without actually fixing anything. We have done that before with nothing to show for it so it clearly isn't the answer.[/QUOTE

Im not advocating that we do a Leeds or Chelsea (pre abromhovic) by spending recklessly... Not at all.

But i take no joy/glory in the net spend culture which so many on here get a hard on for.

But you’re assuming all their signings are going to be quality, again. VVD might be a complete flop like Lovren. Kieta might be as average as Henderson. You won’t be going on about what great business Liverpool have done then will you, or maybe you will.

Personally, i don't get hard on's over net spend. I get a hard on thinking about our shiny new stadium. And from where i am sitting you kind of are advocating being reckless with the clubs finances.

Now i know as much about them as you probably do but the impression i get is that the whole point of building this new stadium and everything that goes with it is to be able to compete with those above us, both on and off the pitch in the long term.

Their net spend being better than ours the last however many seasons hasn't ensured anything for them whatsoever - we have been better them.

Very important we finish above them again this season and keep them out of the champions league.
Can really see fsg saying fuck it we're not throwing more money away and start clawing it back just as lerner did at villa.

They have a massive presence around the world. and especially in Asia. They may not be the better than us in terms of league placings recently. but they blow us out the water in global support.

I’m sure he won’t be leaving in Jan and I’m not even sure he’ll leave in the Summer. Granted it’s a higher probability that he will than he won’t, but it’s not definite.

Keita and VVD will strengthen their spine, but losing Coutinho will severely weaken them going forward. He is their creative hub and I can’t see who they can feasibly get to replace him adequately without paying another fortune.

That’s why I don’t see it as an open and shut case that he is leaving. Liverpool will go all out to keep him IMO, the whole scenario is dependent on whether he is determined enough to want to leave.

Read the thread title.
Why don't you start a 'Let's all suck off Liverpool' thread, I'm sure it'll be very popular.

Read the site name. It's meant to be a community. He's allowed to put his opinion in a Liverpool thread.

I think many of our supporters are clinging to the hope that our new stadium will be the game changer.

It has to be paid off too. But thats for another day.

I think he could leave in the summer but i see today that they strongly linked with this Goeretezka (sp) dude. Possible he is the replacement.

I'm still not 100% sure he's going to go. Liverpool don't seem that desperate to cash in. I can't see it this window anyway.

I agree. They're not desperate to cash in just yet, although they might need to in the summer, and I also don't think Barca will be that desperate to get him in January either. They're doing perfectly alright in the league without him and I don't think he's good enough to be the difference between them winning the CL or not so they can afford to wait until summer.

To be brutally honest I'm not sure why they're that bothered about him anyway, there are better options out there IMO and for a lot cheaper than Liverpool will want for Coutinho. He's a good player but not even close to the world-beater the media seem to make him out to be, in my most humble of opinions of course.

For a start, I'd take Sanchez over Coutinho all day long and they can sign him for free. I know he's already been there and been sold, but back then he was a bench player, he'd be a starter for them now IMO.
