For me that game again showed why we need a packet option like Mane, Salah or Zaha (yes I know the first two are not available).

The fact that we dominated possession and had 31 shots hides the fact that we didn’t really create any clear cut chances again against a team that sits deep.

In these games I think there is something to be said for playing Llorente and Kane together, let Llorente occupy the centre backs to give Kane more freedom to feed off him.

This thread never ceases to amaze me. We had 31 shots, Kane was probably his most wasteful in front of goal...

But let’s blame Sissoko and Dier.

31 shots, 72% possession, but we put this on the whipping boys.

Some proper lemons in here.

You have a point and I actually thought Kane and Eriksen were very average tonight.

Still, what is Sissoko offering tonight? Cannot see it myself

Did you watch the whole game or just catch the highlights which very much told half the story?

What do you mean?? Didn’t you see Llorentes goal against Swansea was offside? And that Sanchez could have had a second yellow?

And today we had the bad luck.

Not our best performance, not our worse. Thought we were a little unlucky actually. Meltdown on here was as embarrassing as usual.
A little unfair of you say that imo. I think it boils down to how passionate our fans are or not in some cases about winning our games, especially against the likes of those bubble blowing gippos. This "Oh well nevermind" attitude of some on here is just as embarrasing I think. Anyway that's just my opinion.

Just remember everyone.., Wembley. Don’t get above yourselves, we’re not playing at home, the stadium is shit. I hate excuses but I do acknowledge reasons.

Keep on supporting Poch. Keep it real. Frustrating against them but it is what it is. Also.. 2 days rest.
Tonight has nothing to do with Wembley i'm afraid. If Pochettino doesn't address our midfield problems then we're going to be experiencing many of these frustrating nights in future at our new home.

As well good Poch is, he has not got killer instinct, I am not surprised that he has never won anything as a manager. Persisting with his love child Sissoko is beyond me

This lot will never win a thing. The mentality isn't there. Takes conceding to actually make them realise that fucking about with it on the halfway line isn't going to score us a goal.

Massive kneejerk and I'm sure i'll be more reasonable tomorrow but that lot have pissed me right off

The bit you aren’t quite grasping is that no ones saying Poch is at fault for West Ham scoring a worldie. People are saying he’s at fault for allowing a performance which was turgid and going no where and clearly not finding a break through for 75 minutes and then only making a change when we went one down.

There was no guts, and no sign of making a positive change to go and win the game. It was deemed that what we had would just eventually do it, when clearly, we could all see where it was going as we have had many games like it before.

Obiangs goal is a credit to him, sons is a credit to Son.
Bang on. What we lack more than anything is urgency.
We need to go at teams like this from the first whistle. I mean really fkin go at them. Fire balls into the box and actually shoot. And when I say shoot I dont mean boot it in the fkin car park.
You can tell after 10min when we're gonna have the ' plod along, no hurry, it'll come' mentality.
Well it wont fkin come if you don't pass and move quickly and shoot.
All that possesion and yet there were HUGE bits of the game where Adriane had fk all to do.
Another example of possesion means fk all its what you do with it.
Sissoko, fk me if he made 100 passes 98 of them were backwards.
Do we really need 2 defensive midfielders and 4 defenders against a team that aren't interested in coming out of their own half?
Imo Lamela should have been on for Sissoko on 60min, by which time it was blatantly obvious to everyone that the square root of absolutely fk all was happening.
Sooo pissed off with that result.
I blame Poch for that display. He needs to get across we need to play with urgency sometimes. This 'it'll come' crap is killing us against bus parking teams.
Fk fkety fk fk.

Like I said no attacking options on the bench

I think the problem is the players on the bench are more of the same. No one to come on who can change things and the way we play. We need a wide player or 2 who can come on and stretch it or a play who can sit deep and open up a defence.

It's about giving yourself the best possible chance to break them down. To do that you have to move the ball quickly. Before the 70th minute we didn't get Dele and Eriksen involved enough in dangerous positions.

I'm not saying we were awful but I just think we could have done better and it's frustrating that Poch played a centre back and Sissoko as our midfield against a team where you have to keep things ticking along.

Well then we probably agree, obviously we could have played better and poch could've made the sub sooner I just can't stand how ott some of the poch criticism is, whether you think he should've made a sub sooner or not there's no way this result is "100% on poch" as I always see people say, that's just ridiculous

10 pts from 12 is a great haul.

There were ways around that West Ham blockade but they weren't fully exploited.

Ah well.

Were there that many great quality chances though? It wasn't exactly a game of missed sitters.

Those were mostly just pot shots because we weren't moving the ball quickly enough.
