Going backwards haven’t got no pace down the flanks. Shows how much of an asset Walker and Rose were to us. That’s what City are doing to teams this season what we were over the last two. 3rd then 2nd and not pushed on as I said after the Man c game I fear regression under this regime. Not Poch even tho he isn’t doing himself any favours. But the Chairman and owner who don’t want progression I’m sorry they want pound coins like the lot in the red side of north London . Big fancy stadiums making loads of money but going in the direction of winning titles etc. Once the stadium is built we will be the blue and white version of the goo nets I’m affraid just one big gravy train like at the emirates Love Spurs but fear for us.
The same regime that's put us in the position we're now in?
Yeah that makes a lot of sense, that's very well thought through mate.

Sissoko is best used away from home or at least against teams who may try to score as he can carry the ball into space and he's fairly decent defensively and positionally. Very limited footballer but someone who we can at least use in some effective way.

That effective way is never ever going to be against teams who sit deep and park the bus. Perhaps Poch should have gone with Sissoko against Swansea and Lamela tonight.

You have a point and I actually thought Kane and Eriksen were very average tonight.

Still, what is Sissoko offering tonight? Cannot see it myself
Those players are too rich for General levy’s blood

He's better used as a sub.

The bit people aren't grasping is that teams park the bus because (shock incoming) it works, it makes it hard and all teams except the money team struggle. If it wasn't effective why would teams still do it?

In fact, we were doing quite well at breaking them down. We created multiples chances, had two shots cleared off the line and hadmultiple penalty shouts. Poch could've made a sub but that's not why we drew I have yet to see anything since he's come back to suggest Lamela would've taken that game by the scuff of the neck and definatly won it for us, he's still not even 100% fit

The way of beating teams that park the bus is with speed. Balls into feet, snappy passing, give and go and all those other cliches. The whole, hold the ball and knock it left to right in front of them does nothing. You say we created chances but they were mostly fairly speculative digs from just outside the box from Eriksen. Kane has a few chances but his were mostly attempted shots from a few yards out with 5 or 6 West Ham defenders hanging off him.

The amount of times in that game that we won the ball in our own half before Alli and other jogged it up the field allowing West Ham to get back in shape and settled was ridiculous. Lamela isn’t perfect but he does get his head up, he does look to cut a pass through a defence and get the strikers turned in behind. We needed that punchlines earlier. I’m not for a second saying Lamela would have come on and won the game for us on his own. However I feel fresh legs earlier would have. I feel earlier changes would have given us a bit more impoetus, a bit more drive and a bit more energy.

As it was we sat for 70 odd minutes knocking it about in front of two banks of 5 waiting for someone to pull out some magic. Eventually it comes from Son but by that point he’s saving us a point. I’m not saying I’m always right, but I feel that fresh legs and a more positive approach would have won us hat game. I feel we set up negatively given the quality in front of us.

You can hardly blame Moyes.

Smart tactics from him as he's obviously observed our ability to be slow at moving the ball in midfield. If they'd have come at us it would have played right into our hands.

That's why I said I get it. Mark knobhead said the tactic was 5 midfielders to just sit in front of the defence and soak it up, which for me is complete anti football.

Palace vs city was also defensive but they tried to compete which is different imo and something I cannot blame.

Were there that many great quality chances though? It wasn't exactly a game of missed sitters.

Those were mostly just pot shots because we weren't moving the ball quickly enough.
Kane had 2-3 opportunities inside the 6 yard box, decent delivery that normally bury at least 1 from. Not today. Aurier’s header into him that he miscontrolled, Alli’s miscontrol racing into the box, there were a number of golden opportunities that were wasted in both halves that don’t even tally up with the number of shots we had.

The pot shots you could also lay at Kane’s door to an extent. He put one about 15 foot over the bar from around 25 yards.

Our crossing was poor too, but the ire is reserved for 2 players whose remit it was to win the ball in the middle and lay it off to Eriksen? A remit they actually carried out pretty much to the letter.

I do agree with those having a pop at Poch for not making the subs earlier, but the SOLE reason we didn’t get 3 points today is because our frontline were poor.

10 points out of 12 over Christmas and you cobble this together? Such a tantrum.

Tbf the stats were that high only because they sat back and defended for the entire match. Any other team in the 4 leagues would have had similar stats against them tonight. It doesn't mean that we were shit hot though does it? We should and ought to have turned them over tonight given the level they are at and where we are and that's that really. I'm amazed some cannot fathom that. Sorry if I've misinterpreted your post.
You have, but that’s ok. The fact is our frontline was pretty dire today with their first touch and finishing. That’s why we drew, no other reason.

I think we really need to stop blaming the refs, we need to take them out of the equation and just start putting these games to bed.
There were two game plans on show tonight as the commentators alluded to, attack and defend, they pretty much nullified us and scored a worldie.
I know it’s been said a million times but Sissoko....seeing him dropping into a back three tonight and then thinking back to the barnstorming runs he was making through the middle for France 18 months ago almost makes me think someone’s stolen his passport.
Surely Poch must be pulling his hair out knowing what he can do but he doesn’t seem to have that drive through the middle for his club as he does for his country.
Harry and Vic for me next up.

Yeah I agree we are in a better position than we were under sugar. But we’ve got a bulging trophy cabinet we’ve won loads over the last 10 yrs. So what’s the excuse now? Because these players who can earn double, treble there wages else where will be gone because this so called amazing regime will not pay the wages. Your thoughts?
