Is Poch immune from criticism? There is much to say about his game management but I wont go there in this thread

Despite Son's goal, I will give Aurier MOTM

Poch 0

Sissoko and dier 0 ( I don't blame them 2 really, totally useless redundant skill set once it became clear how gollum set up his team)

Son 7 mom
Everyone else 5

Fucking meh

Dier, Sissoko CM2 against a team parking the bus; wait until 70 mins to make the first sub;
we are down to 0-1 and putting Wanyama in the field (maybe we need tripper in this situation, though aurier is really good today);
llorente gets his chance until 82 mins;
our equaliser is a Son's masterclass out of nothing, nothing related to our organisation

I love Poch as anyone does. But today his management is really, really poor. Ironically, he keeps saying "be brave". This is not brave, and also it is stupid

fkin shambles.

Lloris - 6 - nothing to do but get beaten by a worldie
Aurier - 7 - shame Sissoko kept getting in his way.
Sanchez - 4 - Looked very shaky tonight
Verts - 5 - Disappointed as a senior player he did not step up more second half.
Davies - 5 - Offered nothing but poor crossing.
Dier - 4 - Not sure if it is possible to pass the ball more slowly than he does. To be fair he shoudl not even have been on the pitch given Winks, Dembele and Wanyama were all supposedly fit and he played 90 mins 48 hours ago.
Sissoko - 2 - WTF was he doing at RCB for an hour?
Eriksen - 6 - Looked tired but kept at it.
Dele - 6 - Ditto
Son - 7 - Would have been a 6 if not for his wonder strike
Kane - 6 - Looked way off his best

Pochettino - 1 - Worst team selection and in game management I have seen for years. And from our best manager in my lifetime.

Today Poch is certainly not immune from criticism. He should have changed it at half team but didn’t. When the pattern of the game didn’t change he still didn’t make the changes the team was crying out for. He only changed it after the goal. I can’t blame him for a slow paced turgid performance by the team but he had every opportunity to change it, put two upfront for example but just looked paralysed. We have to learn from this. Got out of jail tonight.

Aurier my m.o.m, getting better with each game. Only player with any pace in the team. Dier was terrible tonight. Harry looked tired. Rest of the team bang average.

Whilst you can't legislate against a wonder strike and one of their only shots at goal, let alone on target all game, this was fundamentally down to Poch not being proactive and recognising that our cumbersome 'dynamic duo' of Dier and Sissoko was totally the wrong personnel in winning a football match against a team of pure bus parkers.

We needed wit, craft and someone to pass between the lines quicker rather than plodding across allowing West Ham to reinforce their defensive wall.

No ratings but i'd just love to know what Poch's rationale is here because it's completely counter-intuitive to what we were all seeing played out in front of us.

Poch is a stubborn ol bastard, still love him, but he lets himself and the club down every game were he starts Sissoko in a game were the oppo has 10 men behind the ball.

Son and Aurier standout players.

Eriksen and Alli a lot of nearly moments.

Kane uncharacteristically off.

Vertonghen and Davies solid at the back.

Poch - 0. Thats all. Not blaming anyone else as it was Poch who picked them and decided to keep that formation for 75 bloody minutes.

Kane actually looked like he was recovering from an illness! he didnt have his usual energy/determination, certainly not 100% fit

Lloris - can't really rate him tonight tbh
Aurier - really good game apart from one or two duff crosses
Sanchez - jittery
Verts 7 - excellent again though not much to do
Davies 6 - meh

Dier 2 - awful, please let this be the end of the midfield experiment
Sissoko 4 - not his fault but not what was required

Alli 6 - fine, could have done a lot more if he was given the ball in better areas
Eriksen 6 - Tried
Son 7 - Got us a point and saved us some embarrassment

Kane 5 - Poor

Lamela 5 - Poor
Wanyama 6 - Fine

I dunno, it was very hard to tell. He was covered by a blanket defence most of the night.

Aurier, Eriksen and Vertonghen were alright tonight. Aurier probably shades our MOTM.

Son with a typical goal out of nowhere, but otherwise frustrating.

Sanchez looked shaky and lacking in concentration at times.

Dier and Sissoko, absolutely shocking selection for a CM2 against West Ham, and it showed. Sissoko brings absolutely nothing to the table, while we probably wouldn't have missed Dier today, had he got sent off before kick-off.

Alli back to the slow, cumbersome one-to-many-touches version, that played the whole autumn.

Kane looked of the boil, probably still recovering.

Hugo didn't do much wrong, maybe could have saved their one and fucking only shot on target, but not a drop.

Very frustrating evening :grumpy:

EDIT: And Poch, what the hell was he up to today?? When it was obvious what we were facing, he NEEDS to be active much sooner, and go for it. He's the main culprit behind the result tonight, by not realising his mistakes and correcting them.

Son for his goal. everyone else was a par. Not easy to play against a team that just wants to put 10 men behind the ball and hang on for a point.

Lamela got a fire assist, yet was poor? Kk Francis’ alt account
