High winds seem to be taking a toll on the progress with the steelwork - there hasn't been much crane activity although they did get some work done last night. I hope there is some slack in the programme.

Genuine question, just out of interest. Which particular news organisations are credible, in your opinion?
I'll answer that from my perspective if I may. None can be accepted at face value; you always have to remind yourself of the ownership and politics of the publication or broadcaster and the prejudices or affiliations / leanings of the individual delivering the message. It is possible to reach something approximating the truth but only after a good deal of translation.

This is why aggregator sites like Newsnow are useful - learn the keywords, remove the publications that you know are rarely right or clickbait, and you get a nice broad selection of views mostly, so it's a bit easier to find the middle.

They also cover a surprisingly wide selection of sites too, I know a few very professional individuals who use it to keep track of their specific industries (one deep bore machines/hyperbarics, so pretty specialized info can be sponged out if you know the right key words and publications).

If they can't work on anything with the cranes/steelwork etc then I would hope and assume the greater emphasis is placed on as much internal work as possible?

Unfortunetly the world seems to be popoulated with media agencies that are either conservative or liberal to the left side of politics. There seems to be very few media institutions that take the middle ground and the majority of the press seem to sit in the 'liberal' or left wing camp. I am not a fan of Trump and he certainly hasnt covered himself in glory however the reporting on his presidency has been so one sided and biased with a clear agenda to discredit him by the left wing press. Some of the venom has been breath taking. I get pissed off because its insulting my basic intelligence and the rest of the readership when I read this opinionated shite masquerading as 'good' journalism.

Left-wing news sites are dominant in readership in the UK. For example, the Guardian is the most viewed media website in the UK after the BBC. The idea of it being dominated by the right is completely inaccurate.Yes I know its the old Mail vs Guardian argument and the Mail is a more popular rag but the left is also strongly represented by the Mirror, Independent and the Sun at times. In Oz its the Fairfax press vs New Limited. Again as a left wing rag the Fairfax press has been drowning in its own shite of late.

In the US I think the traditional 'liberal' mastheads have let themselves down badly, the NY Times, The Post, the WSJ, CNN - they have shredded their reputation for unbiased factual reporting. In hindsight it was never índependent' factua reporting, but Trump's presidency has exposed them completely.

I prefer to read reporting or commentary from the small number of media institutions that have taken the middle road and report facts. Unfortunetly they are dwindling to a few - The Atlantic, the wire services like Associated Press, Bloomberg News, Reuters perhaps TIME or NEWSWEEK from time to time. Its a sad state of affairs generally.

I am not even going to mention the alt right or right wing press here like Breitbart etc, they are copy cats of the left wing press with their own agenda but at least they are more honest about it.

Sorry back to the stadium :D

One would hope that was the case irrespective of the external work, well this one would anyway.:)

Wouldn't the contractors doing the internal fit out have different skills to those operating the cranes, installing the steel pieces and rakers externally?

I'm starting to get a bit worried about when the roof will be going up. We were told a key indicator would be it going up by the end of Jan, but they still seem a long way off joining up the bowl, and allowing the roof work to start to my untrained eyes...

Hasn't the roof already started going up? The tension cables at North end seem to be getting tighter / higher daily.

They seem to be focusing on the steelwork bracing the south stand at the moment. That is quite chunky and looked to be be slowed down during the windy days this week. Hopefully the rest of the steel is more superficial and will go up quickly.

I haven’t read any of this thread so apologies if this is known already but thought I’d share...

My brother had a meeting at the new ground this week re possible boxes for his company and the guy he met with told him they are 6 weeks ahead of schedule for completion.

Also, does anyone know if the fans will be contacted re where they’d like to sit?

There are about 12 of us who sat in a 4/4/4 type formation over 3 rows at the Lane. At Wembley we can all see each other but we’re not together, bar about 6/7 of us. We put up with it cos it’s temporary. The last thing we want is either the same thing happening in the new stadium or we all get put in one row, meaning you hardly speak to anyone unless you’re sitting next to them, which is a bit shit.

Sorry if this has already been spoken about but it crossed my mind last night that time is running out to sort all this out.

I found this courtesy of Fatfish59 on Skyscraper City. Shows that once they join up the curved backbone of the steel on the trees, they just have to insert these single poles. Actually less than I thought to do...
