I found this courtesy of Fatfish59 on Skyscraper City. Shows that once they join up the curved backbone of the steel on the trees, they just have to insert these single poles. Actually less than I thought to do...

That’s doesn’t seem right to me as the glass wall behind south stand is where the roof joins not the top of south standing seating bit. I’ll try and find the pic

Edit: found it

Can we keep the thread stadium related guys.
Also, does anyone know if the fans will be contacted re where they’d like to sit?

There are about 12 of us who sat in a 4/4/4 type formation over 3 rows at the Lane. At Wembley we can all see each other but we’re not together, bar about 6/7 of us. We put up with it cos it’s temporary. The last thing we want is either the same thing happening in the new stadium or we all get put in one row, meaning you hardly speak to anyone unless you’re sitting next to them, which is a bit shit.

Sorry if this has already been spoken about but it crossed my mind last night that time is running out to sort all this out.

They said they won't, but I think they will move us over to the new stadium like they did from the old place to wembley. Personally, I cant see how they can do it any differently without it being really complicated. Thats why me and my friends made sure we all sat where we have in wembley (moved from where we were offered), just in case they operate the move to new WHL the same way.

I think the glass wall at the back of the South Stand isn't really part of the main structure. It's just like a skin that goes on top of the structure.

As I say the glass will be done after the roof. So the glass will be added in between the poles that will hold the roof cassettes.
The poles aren’t what the end of the roof attaches too.

Zoom in and you can see them on top of seating area then roof goes further back to the top of window

Edit: yes the glass will be added later but the steel work that holds them needs to go up imo

I’m no expert and only going from the renderings but it doesn’t look like the roof end is on top there to me.

Looks like it goes out further than that

Edit: another pic shows the poles on top of seating ( the ones in your pics ) are further forward than where the roof ends on top of glass wall.

Obviously could just be a optical illusion for me though.

It's unlikely that the glass walling will be structural. There's no way it would be in place for February to let the roof go up.

Yep that’s what I thought. Maybe it’s just the way I’m viewing it.

Hopefully I’m wrong as they’ve only got a month to be ready.

I'm starting to get a bit worried about when the roof will be going up. We were told a key indicator would be it going up by the end of Jan, but they still seem a long way off joining up the bowl, and allowing the roof work to start to my untrained eyes...
Some of the sections of compression ring have been really awkward to install and the last one in relies on all the others aligning perfectly.
If each one takes a day and there are 20 of em say, then they need to be cracking on.

I think it unlikely Levy is going to declare the project delayed on a self imposed deadline - if the ring is the only part of the roof complete by the end of Jan/start Feb, then arguably that still is the major structural roof component - and being complete is a major milestone.

Wouldn't the contractors doing the internal fit out have different skills to those operating the cranes, installing the steel pieces and rakers externally?

doesn't mean they cant pick up a paintbrush :p

If they can't work on anything with the cranes/steelwork etc then I would hope and assume the greater emphasis is placed on as much internal work as possible?

The steel fixers won't be doing any internal fit out if they can't fit steel.
Completely different trades.
