If Kane is fit, he will want to play, I doubt he is the kind of player that would ask Poch for a rest, he will be wanting to score as often as possible, that's part of what makes him the player he is

Think so too, you never see Ronaldo or Messi rest. They all want to play as many games as possible, cause that's also the way you score as many as possible.

But there's more chance of injury with fatigue, and the more games you play, the more likely you are to get injured.

But, the point is, we want to win this cup right? So why would we want to rest any of our players? Why even take the risk with youth which could then force a replay?

Weird things can happen in the FA Cup, we aren't going to win the league and the CL is a longshot so this might be our only realistic chance at a trophy this season, if we were in the title race I might agree but as things are I think it's the right call to play Kane, if needs be he can sub him off early if we have a nice lead.

Susprised Lloris bothers to sit on the bench today, usually it's Gazzaniga if first choice is rested.

Even more baffling is the quotes from Winks today that he’s struggling with the ankle injury and playing through pain. Why’s he risked on the bench then for games like West Ham.

Exactly, the reason Kane is as good as he is right now is because he has a thirst for scoring, he trains hard and he wants to play every single game, it's not just about him doing his job, he wants to be the best player in the world, you can tell that.

Hope Kane will score a hat trick in the first half and just rest for the second half...

I'm all for Poch starting strongly, bang a few goals and defend from there than getting jittery and sub in the strong players to get something.

Sterling and maybe another kid really could have been on the bench; Skipp imo. Poor from Poch. That line up should win comfortably and there'd still be enough on the bench if they weren't to put those two on the bench. GKN should be in for sissoko too, who's inclusion I just cannot understand after his performance three days ago. Take out sissoko for sterling and one of the mids for skipp. easy

I wouldn't know mate, I'm not a manager.

But you can have an opinion no? When Onomah or Winks first appeared on the bench in the PL did that mean we weren't taking that game seriously. Strange argument imo

Kane wants records. Playing against L1 opposition is a great chance to bump up those goals.

It's a week until the next game.
Do you believe our qualification into Round 4 depends on Kane and Vertonghen?

We cannot rotate these two in particular at any other time - a medium term approach has to be made in making us competitive for cups come May which invariably means rotation.

Not a qualified opinion.
It's great to see young players on the bench, but there's probably very good reasons why there aren't any, factors that fans probably don't even know exist.
Not strange at all buddy.

We can only use 3 subs though. We've got 4 attacking/creative players on the bench. They can't all come on, so one will be wasted no matter what the situation is. So why can't you give one of their spots to an academy player. What is that risking?

We should take them to the cleaners with that team.

But, that’s pretty much it for all of our youth players for this season. If none of them can get a sniff of the bench for this game, they may as well pack up for the year.

Amazing that Poch can’t at least find places on the bench for a handful of the youngsters. Eriksen needed on the bench? Seriously.

Would have loved to have seen Poch give Skipp a start alongside some experienced heads. Or Amos.

Big opportunity missed.

Eriksen might be needed if we fail to score or create anything.
