May of course be just an initial mock up but the phrase Tottenham Stadium is of interest. Will this get replaced with an overall ‘sponsor’ name or will it remain as this? Hotspur though has been removed. Will Spurs play at the Tottenham Stadium? This in turn leads on to the station name - we were lead to believe this would be Tottenham Hotspur but this may not be the case now?
I wouldn’t read too much into it. It’s just a holding name, because we are not ready to announce the naming rights partner.

We shall see on that. There may of course be a conflict of interest with the NFL?

Why? Practically every NFL team has a stadium sponsor...
Levy has already said that one of the conditions of the deal with the NFL is that the stadium can be handed over clean. This is a similar condition to the Champions League which requires that no advertising (other than that put in place for official CL sponsors) be visible and is the reason why stadium names are changed on all official literature when they include a sponsor's name (see Arsenal and Borussia Dortmund for examples).

This suggests that we may be required to hide or 'switch off the lights' on all THFC branding and refer to the stadium by a generic name as well as removing other sponsorship and logos. It will depend on the exact terms of the deal as to what must be changed or hidden (I hate the idea of our stadium having the lights turned off on any lit THFC signage), but Tottenham Stadium is likely to be the name used for European competition and that could also be the case for the NFL.

See above. I don’t know any details of any possible deals re. the new stadium, but I do know a limited amount (through experience) about such requirements elsewhere.

Re your point specifically, the stadia used are ‘Home grounds’ for individual teams I guess. The Tottenham Stadium would need to be a supplier for the NFL as a whole?

Has Levy said the stadium would have to be clean? I thought his dream would be to have one of our matches and an NFL match on the same day, which the NFL was initially skeptical of, but he made it seem possible.

Also the CL deal is because they don't want other sponsors to gain out of their competition without paying them, whereas the NFL already has individual stadium sponsors. So I guess it depends on the deal for the NFL to rent the stadium, whether the sponsor being taken out would be required, but it certainly doesn't seem a necessity.

Anybody remember the guys name that used to come on this thread abusing everybody and adamant the new stadium would never be built. I’d love to reread those posts.

That has been mooted. It may be that in NFL literature the name 'Tottenham Stadium' is used. Obviously I haven't seen the contract and don't know what's agreed; just what DL has said in public.

Other than the name, the rest is just changing the adverts on hoardings and switching off THFC signeage and swithing on NFL signeage between games. Easy enough to achieve. Obviously certain physical stuff will stay (like the logo debossed in the concrete), but as I said before, it depends on the specifics of the terms and what can and can't be visible at an NFL match. I suspect there are things like no visible cockerels (or THFC identifiers in general) inside the stadium bowl for an NFL game in the contract, for example.

We'll know the true practicalities when the first NFL game happens and we see what it looks like and we'll get some clue when our footy starts and we can see what is obviously permanent and what is less so.

It will be replaced once a stadium sponsor is in place.

Isn’t there an idea that the North Stand will have a white cockerel in the blue seating? How would this play with the NFL?

I doubt very much that the NFL cares too much about these things.

In fact, if I had to guess, I would say the NFL prefers to have as much "London" identifiers associated with the stadium as practicable. That is what separates that particular game from any other game that Sunday. And, if the NFL moves a club to London - it will be attended mostly by Londoners, who don't need an Americanized stadium to enjoy the game.

Basically the nfl and cl don't want sponsors that are not paying them money to be seen at games. A white cockerel will not piss off their sponsors.
