Well there's not much point in having him here that's for sure. For whatever reason he hasn't been given any sort of run in the team at all and I can't see that changing, as much as I would like to see him feature more.

I hope he stays here for the simple reason that you just know that the moment he moves Sonny will pick up a knock.

I've not seen a single glimmer of talent from this kid, as likeable as he is, I just haven't. If this move comes off hopefully it means a place in the squad for Marcus Edwards, who seems destined for the top for me.

I get the tepid view on GKN given his general lack of involvement but i do think he has occasionally shone when brought into a game - just not enough to warrant more game time and according to Poch a while back, he apparently hasn't got his intensity up to where the first team needs it.

I agree though, Edwards hasn't done anything at all from a first team perspective but who do you gamble on/throw into a game for 10mins? The young talent we've brought through the ranks who is hungry for his opportunity or the slightly older (still young) talent who's not done much with his first team involvement/opportunities to date?

I'm spinning the perspective slightly - but the point stands, i would always want our homegrown options to be given a chance rather than a multi-million pound buy who does little to justify theirs.

I think he's only going because he's lost his bench place to Lamela and now Wanyama is back too. Poch won't replace him with a youth player. Our bench will just be Sissoko, Lamela and Llorente every week.

Yeah, hopefully getting consistent game time will help him come to grips with the league. He is a talented player but just hasn't worked out for him.

Impression given by Poch is that the talent is there, but he's never really engaged his brain to realise that potential.
He's more interested in what his money can buy him...

Yes fair point. The Edwards part was more relevant to cup games maybe or if any of those listed have a knock.

Wonder if his English has improved? Don’t know if Burnley have any French speaking players but that might make things tough for him if he hasn’t picked up much English. With the number of French speaking players we have Im sure he finds himself more comfortable with whatever Poch is trying to get across

Maybe I am reading too much into things, but the fact he has been loaned to a PL team rather than abroad gives me a bit of hope that we may not have of completely give up on him.

Best chance we have in finding out if he succeed in the PL. On loan to a top half team that will look to exploit his pace.

Seems like it was his choice over ours.

Poch doesn't want luxury players that need freedom to express themselves going forward, and it's being said about the Burnley move that GNK struggle with the physical demands of the training regime at Spurs.
Think this is something to have in mind for those desperate for a Zaha transfer.

Best for all parties if he leaves. Has not really shown anything in his little time here, like n'jie.

Just pay up for Lemar!

Steven Defour speaks French, Dean Marney did it at GCSE and Phil Bardsley got a Rosetta Stone CD-ROM for Christmas.
