Dier will play if fit. He always does. Wouldn’t be surprised to see us go 5 at the back with wing backs.

Lloris
Aurier
Dier
Sanchez
Vertonghen
Davies
Wanyama
Eriksen
Son
Alli
Kane

Not the XI I’d pick but think that’s what we’ll see.

I would play this team but swap Dele for Eriksen. We need quick balls from CM, and Eriksen is the man to do it. Then quick one twos with Lamela son and Kane. Main thing is we have got to be quicker or this will be another wet spam game!

I’d generally agree with that except I’d swop Dele’s and Eriksen’s positions so that Eriksen can
ping balls in for the other front men to run in to.

I think this is what Poch will go with.

Id keep it same as @tiger666 as Alli is stronger in midfield where Eriksen just gets brushed aside. Wanyama can ping beautiful cross field balls forward no problem.
Really like that line up.
Lamela Alli Eriksen and Son all need to be on to break these bus teams down imo.
Id play Kane as well :cautious:

Hoping Rose will be fit. Sanchez definitely for Dier. Really impressed with KWP as well I’d be tempted for davies. But this is pretty much now my favourite team. But leaves bench devoid of any attacking options. Clearly shows we need at least 2 attack minded in. Oh and dembele bench.
Ah shit I forgot about Mousa.

Re Davies v Rose, I think we need to make sure Rose is 100% when we play him again.

Re depth, I think one creative / AM makes all the difference. Barkley could’ve been it :(

Yes I had forgotten how good a passer he was. Good call. Can always swap those guys around if we’re not breaking them down ( not that Poch ever does that:)

Much as I'm not a massive fan of it I'd be tempted to play Dier and Wanyama for this as Everton will be grafting and this will make us more solid - it might mean Eriksen dropping back to link things up in absence of Dembele and making more of a 4-3-3.

We also did tonk some teams at end of last season with these two so maybe they just clicked better?

Lloris

Aurier Sanchez Vertonghen Sessegnon (or Rose I guess)

Dier Wanyama

Eriksen Dele Son

Kane

Sessegnon will not be coming this window.

Also, 2 DM’s against a team that will sit back as much as West Ham? Count me out. Need that extra bit of creativity in there. Lamela for Wanyama or Dier. Drop Dele or Eriksen back.

Put Edwards on the bench for an attacking option that would add something other than strength and brawn

They're gonna sit back and play pretty much like West Ham did. Wouldn't have those two together in midfield, especially Dier.

Didn't they play 3 holding midfielders against us? They're gonna sit back. No way do I want to see Dier and Wanyama in the middle.

I like it but not sure about KWP LWB unless it's a forced change. Not a massive fan of full backs who come inside, especially against an Allardyce side.

It's not ideal and I'd prefer him on the right, KWP is more direct than Davies though and would hopefully take the game to them more on that flank.

As that shape is potentially a little light in midfield, if he's cutting inside at times that makes an extra body at times to help move the ball.

Also the attacking players rotate. If Son is at times playing his role where he starts very high and wide on the left then KWP underlapping and joining in the play isn't a bad option to have.

Edit: Who knows until you try something.......
