We should have won the league twice in the last 3 seasons when the "Big Boys" were on a sabbatical but we bottled it. They're now back from holiday and taking over again. Oh another thing, guess what Leicester have on their CV.
sorry, I take issue with this. What exactly are Chelsea if not big-boys? Also they won 13 in a row, and we were never in the lead, so how did we bottle it?

Maybe the Leicester season, you have a point, but we were inexperienced, and failed to deal with the pressure. Also both years we had to chase teams that had no European football, and played the same team every week and seemed to get no injures. It was bizarre.

It seems we get these kind of promises every year from the board though don't we. "Poch has a warchest", "Levy will break the wage structure", "We'll get players in for pre-season this time".

I'll be willing to bet by August 8 there'll be no new signings and slow progress on the contracts. I'll very much believe it when I see it in terms of us getting that top class CM and getting Toby, Kane, Eriksen, Dele etc tied down.

Depends on what side of the fence you sit on and what is realistic in your mind. To me it was obvious that Levy never had a warchest to spend, that is pure and utter fantasy talk (wtf is a warchest anyway? lol) and it's not as if we didn't try and get players in early before pre season, we did but due to financial circumstances that our rivals simply have more money than us you can see why it was difficult.

But the club have done more good then bad in my eyes and have sprung more surprises and kept to their promises more often than not...for example tying the manager down to a longer deal, the spate of contracts that it handed out to all our senior players, the speed of how quick the stadium is being turned around etc...I think people often forget about these things and take them for granted and when the club don't deliver they get downbeat and tend look down at the club for failing to match their expectations.

Is Levy still keeping his wheelbarrow?

Kane isn't actually saying anything different than he has before. He's said previously that as long as the club is progressing he wants to be part of it.

Coincidentally the last time he said something similar was before he signed his last contract.

It's really nothing to worry about or surprising to hear again.

Agreed. Anything he says is twisted to fit the media narrative.

Bit disappointed by his comments from yesterday, but I guess he’s protecting himself in case something drastically changes and he feels he needs to move on. He’d be a proper villain if he did a sol and told us he was staying but then left anyway.

The reason I am disappointed is because I would prefer he not give the media any ammunition. Surely he would know someone like the daily tar would twist his words into a headline about him being open to leaving us... which they did.

Oh well. No doubt his heart is still 100% in it for us though.

Why do people pay so much attention to what trash newspapers say? It's just noise, ignore it.

Hopefully he is putting pressure on Levy. Which is the smart thing to do.

And he deserves to win things. If we don't win anything in the next 2-3 seasons I wouldn't begrudge him a move, although it would destroy me.

Good goals again but agree with a game like this he should be rested. I remember Millwall last season people said he should start and went off with ligament damage. Anyway, we won, he scored a brace, he's good so I will let it slide MP ;)

Disagree, we need to be aiming to win the FA cup so he should be starting.

Having a world class forward in Kane (yeah I said it) and how we've been challenging in the league show exactly why we need to ensure our squad is of the highest quality so we can go on to beat the best teams.

We need to secure another decent left wing back / full back as we're weak there and if Rose leaves we'll need two players (I like Davies but to be very best we need better, I do like him as a left-sided centre back in a back three though).

We also need to sort right-back out - can Aurier develop further under Poch? (I think he can) and ideally KWP comes in and becomes first choice as with our investment in youth we need to be pushing through our very best.

Midfield engine room is in deperate need of reinforcements as with Dembele being iffy to consistently start it leaves us very short in numbers we need another all-rounder who can flexibly play box-to-box or defensive midfield.

And we need to actually get a decent second striker in, be that someone like Sterling if can make step up from youth or bringing someone in, which is difficult as they'll just see Kane and kinda know they're second fiddle.

Are you suggesting we can’t beat Wimbledon and Newport without him?

I would suggest it could be dangerous to assume we can as in the past we've gone in with Janssen / Llorente or maybe Son and been a heck of a lot blunter without Kane spear heading.

It's a tricky job rotating players and not messing up our rhym but we really couldn't afford to not take them seriously and slip up - look at how it happened for the gooners against Nottingham Forest.

If we had a much better alternative striking option then I would actually feel Kane should play the FA cup game so involved in run and then perhaps be rested against weaker side in league if have a fixture congestion. If it's one game a week I see no need to rotate / rest though.

Teams never used to rest so many players in FA cup and if we got to final we'd play strongest team, so why should other players have to do donkey work getting to that point?

The FA cup is now just as vital as winning the league - at this stage it would be better to win it and finish 4th rather than thrashing guts to get 3rd or even 2nd and yet still win nothing.

We should have taken league cup more seriously too as clubs such as Man U or Chelsea have in past used this as a springboard to winning things.

I totally agree with you about taking the cups more seriously and I certainly wouldn't want us to take Arsenal's approach and just play a team full of reserves, but it is beginning to appear we have become a one man team.

I agree, that's the problem when you have such an outstanding player such as Kane though.

He's both a massive blessing but can also make things tricky - e.g. managing to convince a decent striker to come here and compete with him and knowing when to leave him out of games.

We're going to need slightly more luck with the draw if we're going to win the FA Cup.

Hopefully we get through to the next round and we get two of the other big boys facing each other in the draw.

Even if he intends to stay irrespective of success, he wouldn't say so because it weakens his negotiating position and makes him seem unambitious.

Whether he wants to stay forever or leave in the summer, I wouldn't expect him to say anything different to his recent comments. It doesn't mean anything either way in my view.

I wish he’d kiss the badge, say how much he loves the club and that he’ll never leave

Oh no wait a minute Rsol did that!

Far too much noise on this subject every day. It’s bad enough the media stirring this shit up every day without are own supporters taking the bait

Enjoy him while it lasts. However long it lasts and don’t take him for granted

It’s a privilege to be watching a top professional at work week in week out

Long may it continue
