Liverpool are top of the Northern division. It’s a good win. Wonder what the other semi final teams are ?

We were the first quarter final. The other 3 (to be played by 27 January) are:

Sunderland v Chelsea
Everton v Fulham
Arsenal v Norwich

Would expect Chelsea, Fulham and Arsenal to join us.

Alex Pritchard to Huddersfield 11m. Story in the Sun. Sounds like it will happen
What struck me was that Huddersfield immediately more than doubled their first offer of £5m. I can't remember the last time an offer for a Championship player was upped so heavily so quickly. If that's a straight offer, it's only just below the record fee they paid for Mounie last summer.

Yes, he does watch some academy games, if he doesn’t watch it then he probably talk with McDermott about the game

Presume had just finished 1st training so was there anyway. For all that’s been said in this thread. Poch did give TOB a chance at 17. Which kind of went a little bit under the radar what a big deal that was. Just a shame TOB been injured. But that does show he will even give U18s a chance. The Skipp rumours seem to be growing so maybe will see him soon.

I’m not saying TOB hasn’t got the chance but I think it’s to early to say. He’s only played like 2 minuted in the Carabao Cup but Poch did give him the chance in the summer against teams like PSG and he’s been on the bench a couple of times. Yeah he’s got unlucky with the injury hopefully he comes back soon

Yeah, I never quite understood that one. I'm really not sure on TOB just yet.

Was training daily with 1st squad made bench few times and then went off to World Cup and since appears to have been injured so we never got a chance to see if anything may have developed. Still maintain that 23 squad is too skinny so if we don’t buy one of the youth should fill the extra spot.

TOB played 2 mins. Giving someone a chance is giving them an opportunity to do something. Do you think 2mins is giving him an opportunity to do something on a football field of any meaning. He could very likely not have touched the ball if we decided to keep the ball in the corner. Poch gave more minutes to Onomah at 17 and that hasn't turned out very well. Just throwing people on to up your numbers doesn't do anything for amyone.

Talking of Gerrard, this pre-game quote of hisreally made me laugh:

"It doesn't come much bigger than playing Spurs in the last eight of the U18 Premier League Cup..."

He would know tbf lol.

And people claim youth football isn't a great place to judge mentality

I thought Gerrard’s u18 team were supposed to be quite good?

They are but as BG said we don't know the line-up. However, if we decide to have all of our u18s available, which we still didn't then there aren't many clubs in the country with a stronger group. We're literally just talking about City and Chelsea.
