In reading the transfer thread its obvious theres people on both sides. I want to aggregate and see how many prefer who, and in the discussion maybe why.

I prefer janssen would have preferred to have given him a second season, but we dont see what goes on in training so maybe it was a personality thing.

He oft looked shod of confidence like a befallen fellow on the field.

We all got excited a bit when we beat chelsea to sign the donkey but he hasnt quite lived up. Hes a bit slow n all.

Shame about edwards attitude, i wanted to see the little messi sprout this season.

Llorente is a more established and, imo, better player, we're just not using him to his full potential. We play on the ground too much - when he comes on we should look to put in high crosses from the touch line, get behind the defence and supply him with something to get his head on, but we don't do that, we ping low balls across or try and batter through the middle too much.

We need to play to his strengths.

janssen got a very rough time imo, he got unlucky numerous times with amazing saves and hitting the bar etc but imo he did have good hold up play and always worked his nuts off, I'd take him as backup to Kane again

Saying that I don't think llorente should be wrote off either

Ideally neither but probably Janssen nicks it on age if you forced me to choose based on what i've seen of Llorente so far.

I’ve gone for Janssen. He seemed to be involved in a lot in front of goal but it just wasn’t coming off for whatever reason. Thought if he came back for a second season it could just happen. But it’s the high end of the game and players need to grab any opening or someone else will. Unless that someone is Llorente. Doesn’t seem to be involved in the chances so much, more so involved in fouling the opposition. It’ll have to be option C in future.

I think both will struggle for us.

With the odd exception we are going to play Kane as the lone striker with 2 or 3 attacking mids behind.

Neither Janssen or Llorente are suitable to play behind Kane so their game time will be greatly diminished. Playing up front at top potential requires confidence and a run of games.

So to get this I believe our only option for backup striker is one who can play inside forward as well. This means he can play attacking mid primarily and when Kane is out or requires resting then can play up front.

This means we will have to adapt our play but we have struggled to do this with Llorente anyway.

So my choice would be neither but if I had to I would go with Llorente. This is because he has reached his potential.

Janssen no doubt for me. Whether we play to Llorente's strengths or not like some suggest, he does not incorporate himself into games enough IMO. This is not to say he's a bad player, but other than a couple of standout contributions, I haven't seen him offer anything more than your average bog standard player wouldn't. I liked that Janssen at least worked his socks off, held the ball up, chased and fought for the team. He of course has his shortcomings too but from what I've seen of Llorente, I would pick Janssen over him every time.

None?

Rather have someone young - or Son type ish who can play both striker & winger.

At least Janssen could bring other's into play and move around a bit, Llorente is literally a tree.

Bold statement there :oldman:

I thought Janssen should have gotten a second season with us, I thought he managed to show just about enough to warrant that. But Llorente probably is marginally better. That being said, I don't know if Llornete is that much better that it made a whole lot of sense to send one out of the country and acquire the other.

Not convinced Janssen would have developed any further by staying here.

He is clearly not at the level we require right now. If he'd stayed I can't imagine he'd have got more league minutes than Llorente has.

Also don't think we'd have started him in CL games.

Being one-dimensional strikers I think Llorente and Janssen will struggle here as backupjust like Batshuayi is at Chelsea and Bony did at City.

Honestly think Llorente gets some serious stick he has been a bit part player in what 10 or 11 games for us. Coming on in games where were struggling or stating in a mix up of a team.

Jansen, I just didn’t get the signing of Llorente - firstly we could’ve saved the £14m in transfer fees and whatever wages we’re paying Llorente to put towards a proper alternative to Kane instead of getting most likely 2 seasons out of Llorente.

Secondly Llorente is past is best and really doesn’t suit our style of play, when we signed him I eventually thought “well maybe he’s a plan b, when we’re really struggling to score we’ll hit his head ala Man U with Fellaney” and hopefully we’d gain some extra points that way. However we really don’t seem to mix it up when he comes on, it just seems odd not to play to his strengths when needed.

Jansen with another season may have found his confidence to fulfill what they saw in him originally to sign him, by sending him on loan he’s all but done here so we’ll now have two strikers to shift in the next summer or two.
