Do Spurs need to upgrade on Hugo Lloris?

He's been relatively poor this season for sure, in terms of "soft" goals. But it is wayyy too premature to say that we need to find a replacement. Lloris has been performing at the top level for us since day one. A few months of poor form is not a reason to start thinking about flogging off the club captain.

If this continues for the whole season and into next then maybe.

These football whisper articles, man....

From a purely irational fan perspective I want to win a shit ton of trophies with Lloris as Spurs #1

Nope.

Not only is he an excellent keeper, he's also a fantastic captain who has the respect of pretty much everyone in football, and even if it's not worth much, he has mine.

Well, it's a yes from me, if there is one available. Having seen the best, Jennings for me, I believe Lloris is a decent keeper, but not top draw & there's someone better available we should get him.

I disagree with the click bait comments. Hugo is a superb goalkeeper, always prone to a mistake. But one thing I notice watching him week in week out, is that he is probably the worst keeper in the top flight with the ball at his feet, his kicking is outright awful, almost child like compared to Eduardo. That said I love Hugo and over the years he has always been prone to the odd dip in form, but when he is on it he is worth points alone, but in saying that time stands still for no man.

Hi Guys,

Hugo Lloris used to be part of the elite tier of 'keepers in the Premier League. However, his form has dropped off this season and we've taken a look behind the stats.

"Now, a lot of factors should be taken into account: Alderweireld’s absence is a big blow; Spurs have been without Victor Wanyama; and Davinson Sánchez is still adapting to the rigours of the English top flight.

However, as previously mentioned, Tottenham aren’t poor defensively. Their xGA90 is still just 0.83, so they aren’t conceding many high-quality chances, despite having a number of key players missing. The difference between this season and previous ones is Lloris is conceding ‘softer’ goals."

Time to move on from Lloris?

Cheers,

Sam

That went well.

Nope but signing Pau Lopez on a free would be good for us as a club and him, just needs to be pushed again

Do we need? Maybe. Can we get? No, as there aren't many better and the top teams already have them.

Plus i think Hugo needs to be given a break by some fans. With Toby out he has had to adapt a more rotational defence and that makes his job a bit harder.

Not because of his form this season, but realistically in the next couple of years we really do need a be at least thinking about a replacement.

Even if his form has dropped a bit but not so much as to start talking about finding a replacement.
Totally disrespectful and to some extent insulting noise. Hugo is still one of the best in the world. He saved us many times this season and will continue to do so. The one thing I'd like him to improve is his kicking the ball more accurate and reliable.
