I'm not going to speculate because i have no idea. We'll probably name a hundred players in this thread and still get it wrong.
Also being after a player is not the same as getting him no matter how confident people at the club are. Things change, other bids come in etc...

If I didn’t think it was completely undoable, I’d have a punt on Sanchez being someone that the itk’s are talking about. He’s got 3 big clubs fighting over him and we’re not being mentioned in the press, obviously. A big player who would go straight in the first team etc etc. Someone we could tie up now (verbally) for the summer.

I know in my heart it’s not him but even before all the itk stuff these last couple of days, he’s the one I really wanted. He would’ve won us the league last season. Bit of revenge for Campbell too. Would be so fucking perfect but I know it can’t be him really.

In which case I’m gonna guess Zaha or Mahrez.

I'd prefer Mahrez as he can produce something out of nothing.

Poch has always reiterated that his purchases need to be of quality to push for first team football...this is absolutely in line with the recent ITK... can't ask for more than that in this or any window!

In Poch I Trust

There are a couple of points in JJ’s post that might give us some clues.

He stated that (in some way), Jan, Toby, Christian, Hugo & Harry are first team players and if we’re looking at someone who would get into the starting eleven then it wouldn’t be someone that plays in one of those positions.

Secondly, he mentioned Toby. Does that mean that he is confident that Toby will be signing the new contract?

I’m feeling optimistic about this window (and the next) - much more optimistic than the last few windows.

Thanks JJ & Hercs (y)

I've gotten so used to us doing nothing in January, feels strange to be excited about potential signings at this time of the year.

So are we just going to ignore that the transfer market has moved onto another level and we would probably need to pay at least £50M now for somebody to go straight into our first team?! Come on people this is Spurs in January!

It is highly unlikely to be Sanchez purely because of wages. I think he was, once upon a time, offered £300k a week by Arsenal and turned it down. But God, I would love it to be just for the Arse Fan TV dramatics.

He wants over 250k a week. No deal

Goos that we have targets. I just hope we domt wait until the end of the window if they potentially impact our first team.

Thanks for the updates, don't want us spending big dough on counter attacking forwards, would save it for someone who can initiate more one twos and wants to run on to it as opposed to most of our current lot who only want it into feet in spaces which are often too tight.

It's our inability to vary our attack that sees us half a dozen points behind where we should be.

If Sanchez does go we will have to see who's left after the Goons do their business- if they were prepared to overpay like that for Lemar in Aug, there going to be just as desperate this month...
