So, if I am following this correctly - highly doubtful - we get 95% of our targets as long as they have no agents?

I highly highly doubt Malcom is going anywhere except Woolwich, after the various revelations today. Unless he did a bit of due diligence and actually watched them, in which case you could understand him changing his mind. I can't for the life of me figure out what might draw a promising youngster to them, unless it's just a lot of money.

Not sure that is what Herc is saying. I think all he is saying is that 95% of the players we want will be ours when they become available. May be now, may be summer may be longer, all depends.

Honestly - it really just sound like he is talking about Barkley. We were favourites, but walked away when the agent fees started escalating.
Does not sound as if there are any other signings imminent - at least from this blurb.

Must be Malcom. Certainly wouldn’t describe Chelsea as ‘less’ than us - above us in the league and current champions. Arsenal in the other hand...

Yeah he seems certain to go there, but Hercules is saying that we walked away from whichever deal he's talking about. In update no.2 in the RO he mentioned that we had an interest in Malcolm but that he wasn't our first choice. Any media outlets saying that he chose them over us are probably just spinning a story.

I wonder if what Herc is hinting at is that we are in stronger bargaining position than the media might like to believe, insofar as players are seeing us as a more attractive destination than we had been previoisly, or compared to a few of our rivals.

I can see why @Archibald&Crooks gets so frustrated, he’s already locked the ITK thread because of pointless guessing and wishlisting once today. But here we are again.
