We play them in a few weeks time...the one positive is they can be very inconsistent from the one week to the next.

They're always up for it against us & will be on their game, just as they were today.

Yes.. They always are. For some reason we approach games against Liverpool and Chelsea on their grounds differently.
I hate losing to Liverpool and Chelsea.

But the one positive is we are in equally good form so it will be a cracker...

I know it would be best for us if city won, but you know what....something inside me thinks its good that someone beats city properly. It shows they can be beaten. It might give other teams a clue of how to set up against them etc.
City will still win the league though.

Totally agree. I can't stand the way City have bought the title and made this season a non event.

Are you deliberately ignoring If they sign a good keeper.

It's the way you've worded it. I think you mean if they sign a good keeper they'll finish above us. Your post looks like you think they'll do it even without a new keeper. I'm couldn't say for certain if we'll finish above them, but they've definitely got more chance if they get a decent number one.

I think they would catch up.. But yes maybe i should have worded it differently.

On City something has to be done.. Its why i cant respect any of their achievements same applies to Chelsea. City i think had over £200 million of reserves on the bench.

Just to get this straight, you have no respect for City because of the money they’ve spent, yet you respect Liverpool for showing ambition because of the money they’ve spent?

Am I missing something here?

Fair play to Liverpool. They’re building a great side there and doing it by seemingly stockpiling the kind of players we drastically need - they’re now being linked with Gelson Martins as well.

He’s just the type we should be going for. Imagine if we’d had Mane and Salah.

Klopp’s doing a great job, they’re nailed on top 4 I reckon

Yes you are....Liverpool are spending what they have made on Coutinho sale... Its a rdiculous fee for a defender Vvd but let's not ignore Salah/Firminho/Mane were good buys..

I don't think their spending power is comparable. Liverpool havent bought £50 million pound players to sit on the bench.

They’ll be around £200 million in debt before he’s done.

For a top 4 finish?

They’ve spent the Coutinho money on VVD and Keita, with an additional £20 million thrown in if the reports are to be believed on the Keita cost. They were a good £60 million plus in debt before they spent £40 million on AOC and £35 million on Salah. Rough maths has that at £155 million in debt. A new keeper say £40-50 million, if Pickford cost £30 million, and they want Sanchez?

Whether they are comparable or not, you are expressing admiration for a club that is putting itself under huge financial pressure just to keep up with the Joneses. I haven’t even factored in the wage bill!

You can’t see it can you? Their business model is fucking ridiculous and you admire it because they’ve got a few decent players for astronomical prices?

Mental.

They’ll only lose money if their players value decreases

In a rising market as long as they buy well they’ll be fine - it’s not like they’re going to go insolvent or get bank calls

I'm in admiration of their recent purchases.. Salah/Coutinho/Mane... Jury out on AOC.. But he is young and perhaos Klopp can get the best out of him. Their finances ARE not my concern. But i think they have finances to take care of it.

They have a good manager and they backing him. They doing what they must to ensure they get CL football next season and beyond. Look at the mess that is Arsenal.. I know which is the happier set of supporters. That is all that im saying.

Me admiring/commending their player acquisitions does not equate to dismissing ours.

Edit. I know Coutinho wasn't recent.
