Liverpool have a vast income and are therefore able to pay massive wages and transfer fees. Our achievement in consistently finishing above them is huge. It is not a level playing field and we deserve massive credit. It is disappointing to hear so many people lauding their supposed “achievements” on a Spurs website. Presumably they have been watching Sky, BT and the BBC and been intoxicated by pro-Liverpool propaganda.

I'll let you into a little secret, not everyone on here is a Spurs fan.

Can't wait till we're in the new WHL. It'll make a huge difference. Have to give it to the scousers...Anfield may not be a fortress, but it definitely creates an atmosphere that fires up the home team, and intimidates the opposition.

I watch that game, and yes Liverpool press well, but they were gifted 3 goals by mistakes on man city part. Thought Liverpool second should have not stood... Firminho pushed stones over by using his arm. Yes stones should have been stronger. Apart from a crazy 15 mins spell by man city , they were being forced back before than happened. Still had the defensive issues and when city got to 4 3 you could see the panic in the fans and klopp that they were going to concede. Luck for them they never.

I hate pool, but the reason for the mistakes were because of the press. I agree the 2nd goal shouldn't have stood, Firmino shoved him in the back, I can forgive Stones for not being stronger because it wasn't shoulder to shoulder

I'm in admiration of their recent purchases.. Salah/Coutinho/Mane... Jury out on AOC.. But he is young and perhaos Klopp can get the best out of him. Their finances ARE not my concern. But i think they have finances to take care of it.

They have a good manager and they backing him. They doing what they must to ensure they get CL football next season and beyond. Look at the mess that is Arsenal.. I know which is the happier set of supporters. That is all that im saying.

Me admiring/commending their player acquisitions does not equate to dismissing ours.

Edit. I know Coutinho wasn't recent.

i wouldnt call Mane'/ Salah decent btw. They would get into any of the current top 3 teams.

You seem to be arguing with yourself.

And Liverpool are third.

Agree the the press forced the mistakes, but that was only for the third, No need for the keeper to come rushing that far out to clear for the fourth, and not kick it properly... walker had that under control, he had got back in front of the man...

If Liverpool fans were moaning that we never derserved the win because they gifted us the goals. On the same yard stick you can say we pressured them into the mistakes...

We are currently 3 points behind Chelsea, Liverpool and man u and only a few goals different on the goal difference. We are still in a good position and well in the hunt for CL. We are now beginning to play better, and think we now believe in our selves a again.

They are backing him. They also built a new stand. They have a bigger fan base and turnover than us.

We are building a new stadium and backing our manager as much as we can.

We've finished above them for the last few years.

I admire us.

Come on you better than that. I agree with everything you've said but why should me admiring an opposing teams recent business equate to dissatisfaction with our business.

Reading too much into it. I'm not knocking them, just think in comparrison to the resources we've done better.
Certainly not knocking you.

I get the title of thread... But are we not allowed to laud the mini success or excellent player acquisitions of another club? Or acknowledge that they have strengthened wisely.

Does one always need to placate our own support base with a we are better mentality.. Ive tried avoiding comparing because that was never the emphasis.

They fully deserved the win yesterday, hassled and bullied City for long periods and took the goals really well. Three of those goals were terrible errors from City! They were obviously rattled, and you could see it in some of the challenges their players started making. Aguero looked well off the pace. The two late goals show that Liverpool are still weak at the back and the first goal shows the goalie(s) are still a worry. Just have to blunt the attack to get at them, but that's quite a big question...
