There’s no chance anyone would’ve thought Dele was good enough to go straight into our side for PL football especially not as a CM that he was at the time.

I loved Dele and wanted us to go for him a year before we did. I’ve watched him as s young boy before he even got into Mk academy yet still had my reservations.

Proved me wrong although in a totally different position.

Anyway on topic the only for me ready is KWP to compete for his position (and hopefully overtake Trippier this summer).

Most of the U23s should be released imo because not many are going to make it. ( the eldest of the lot not U19s playing up )
Yeah I must admit I thought Alli was good enough to be a bench player for us and was more excited about the fact I thought he was one of the most exciting prospects around. I tend to just get a feeling with some players that they will be top players and I had that with him. Never expected his goal scoring ability to show up so quickly in the PL though. I used to have the feeling that Onomah would become a class player but now it looks unlikely unfortunately. It’s a little frustrating because although I agree he does have that languid style, if he did step up his work rate he could easily make it. There’s no doubt it’s an issue IMO

Strange. Only played a few cup games for them. He should stay and get some experience
You can’t say that! Guy is highly rated. Gotta take the chance when it is offered. Football is such a temperamental career. Up today, down tomorrow.

I agree always thought dele would be class ( more in a Cm3 ) but had reservations if he was premier league ready.

He was always a capable goalscorer tbf to him.

Onomah style is probably holding him back for poch.

Well according to most he wouldn’t get a chance with poch

Yea take what you mean he’d had to jump at the chance but sometimes you have to believe in your talent and go the long route.

We have a few highly rate players in his position anyway.

wilmot was in the stevenage team that we beat 10-1 in the youth cup last year.
Not one to argue on the club's business but it would seem an oddly unnecessary deal unless someone else was going to buy him so we ponied up now to prevent that. With our relative lack of CB depth I was hoping Tanganga would get a look in in a cup game but he seems well out of the picture.

I was at that game, and while I know no individual player can be judged on a one-off poor performance, my experience is a top class player i.e. one we would be after would at least standout in a League 2 u18s side. I've seen a lot of games where we have destroyed a team but someone from the opposition still stands out if they're decent.

I don't know how good he is, but it looks like the England coaches haven't even noticed him yet. Seems like a case of a lower league club liking a player giving him a chance then everyone jumping on him, like Iorfa and those types.Like Hengy said I'd think he should stay at Stevenage. If he is getting games he'll move in next season anyway, if he came here, it would be a year or two before we saw him, if he ever managed to get a chance.

We are loaning him back. Plays like a 30 yr old apparently very mature. Good going forward. MOTM in Cup on debut. Everyone was after him.

Poch's job is to win games.

We all want another kane but at the end of the day we want champions league and trophies.

Would playing onomah instead of sissoko or edwards instead of gkn mean we gain/lose points? I dunno. That is his decision.

Hope that the youngsters can come through.

There is also the notion that whilst we may have a very talented youth pool to pick from that in itself doesn't mean Poch should have to promote them.

Poch's team mentality is all about working hard and being mentally tough. I would say he prizes that above technically skill, Sissoko being a good example. When we sign players very rarely do they go straight into the team. In fact it usually takes a couple of months before the signed player is relied upon regardless of their quality, unless of course our hand is forced (such as Janssen).

What makes you think that a youth player should be fast tracked if they haven't proved to Poch they have the right mentality? I'm not suggesting players like Onomah and CCV don't but it hardly sends out an egalitarian approach promoting a Onomah over Sissoko when the later has worked his nuts off and puts the team above himself.

Let's hope he's another Dele rather than another Shilow Tracey.

Is Edwards injured? I've seen no mention of him for ages. Too hopeful to think he may have traveled to Barcelona with the first team squad?

You Sir, get a winner for using egalitarian, which I try to be.

Think the general point is a good one also.
