I’m not convinced by Maddison. He was bigged up as the next best thing only to sign for Norwich for peanuts before disappearing off the face of the Earth... well back to Coventry and then off to Aberdeen where he didn’t tear up any trees. Now back at Norwich and doing well albeit in the Championship. He looks decent but nothing stands out as in OMG he’s a star in the making like Sessegnon.

Needs to bulk up a bit, but he's got very good close control and a great passing range.

Primarily plays AM (no.10) with a couple of appearances at CM under his belt (but nothing to warrant signing him for that position).

Not sure whether he'd be a better attacking signing than A.N.Other., but I'd be interested to see how it pans out - if he comes and develops under Poch, we've got someone with close control who can beat a man a spray passes around in the opposition half.

In short, I'm for it.

Being an Aberdeen fan, I can tell you that he did tear up some trees. In fact, 99% of fans were desperate to get another 6 months out of him. He was far too good for the league, especially being only 20 at the time.

Seems norwich are having financial trouble so possibly why they are open to sell.

Did we put in a sell on clause for Pritchard when we sold him to Norwich? If we did then I wonder if we're writing it off as part of a deal for Maddison. Norwich get some decent cash, a player on loan and don't have to pay us the sell on fee. We get a young talent into our squad while Norwich help to develop one of our own talents for the rest of the season.

From the little I’ve seen he seems a talent, is at an age where he has a lot of room to improve and would enhance the skill set which we are most in need of. If he was Jamez Maddisio from the Portuguese top flight (a similar level league to the Championship) then everyone would be raving about him. No idea if he’s good enough or not but if the club have identified him as someone who improves us, I trust them.

Currently we need a creative option and we only have capacity for homegrowns, so if he’s the best creative homegrown out there then I’m all for it.

For those who have seen more of him, would he be more of an Eriksen or Dele alternative?
