If we try to play out from the back against Liverpool I will literally cry.

At Anfield it would be like ringing the dinner bell.

Poch talks about being brave, which is fine, but you need to be smart tactically when the situation warrants it as well.

They will press like fuck against us so we need to bypass the press as we won't play through it at Anfield, no way.

Should be looking to release Son/Kane in behind them as much as we can. Verts is very good at launching attacks from deep etc

I would hope our game with City and the game yesterday, along with our CL approach would open his eyes.

I can’t belive with all the analysis and data he and his team use we will go there and be open, and look to play out of their pressing traps.

Or maybe we shouldn't panic about a one-off game between two rivals and we look to play exactly the same way we played in the reverse fixture earlier in the year when we ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

we need to use the system we used against Madrid Dortmund and Liverpool at home ie play slightly deeper more direct and fast breaks

Common mis-conception is that we played deep, we actually played with a very high line in those matches attempting to keep them as far away from our goal as possible, our back line was sitting just behind the half way line at times.

I think the difference is simply Anfield. There is no doubt it's a high pressurised environment for the opposition. Crowd on top of you with their rampant press is a fierce combination.

We need to be smart in terms of how we minimise that.

Definitely a game where you need to respect their strengths and having a plan for combating them as opposed to turning up with the psyche...sure we hammered them last time.

That's exactly the mindset that will see us get hammered.

Added to that, the way they beat City was so similar to the way they beat us last year. Press fiercely, unsettle the defence, and score quickly in a rampant period. Counter attack is the way to beat Klopp teams, always has.

While I agree that we need to change when playing away I can’t go along with the idea of us simply not playing out from the back.

We haven’t got a team that would suit a pump it long style approach. There are many ways to play it out and city’s main issue yesterday was the space between their defenders while trying to play it out. This allowed Liverpool to block the channels and capitalise on any loose balls.

We don’t leave that much space in dangerous zones and I imagine we would be playing with a tighter back three. While it can be said that there’s more space at Wembley they didn’t get close to us with their press.

We'll play out to an extent, but we'll have to adapt that's what I mean. That doesnt mean pump it long constantly.

If we casualy try to build from the back we'll get hammered. Not rocket science.

We'll have to be direct and move the ball quickly, that means we'll need plenty of good movement to give the man on the ball options.

There are ways of adapting to Liverpool’s press. For instance, when Hugo has the ball Kane pulls out wide, onto one of the fullbacks while Son occupies the middle. Try to aim balls to him to win.

Like Real Madrid away it could be a game to play Llorente

I'm all for the high line. The pace of Salah & Mane is a big concern though ..... Salah in particular is really quick.

Much like we did when we tonked them at out place, with a little help from their defence. It would also help not to have our goalkeeper lingering on the edge of our box when Salah has the ball fifteen yards ahead of you with no sod challenging him, cheers City!

I'm prepared to look stupid in a few weeks but I've got a feeling that at the end of these 3 games we'll be feeling a lot happier about top 4

I reckon we'll beat united and arsenal and then draw with liverpool

If we lose all three feel free to spam me with d'ohs

Top 4 is gone IMO

5 points off top 4 after tomorrow night and we have the tougher fixtures when you compare us and Pool.... forget Chelsea, Utd we aint catching them as they will spend in January too.

Would love to be wrong but we need to just try and get 5th so we get EL and auto qualify to group stage as we could have a big problem if we need to quality for EL and NWHL is not ready

I think we might look back at the end of the season and see today, West Ham and West Brom at home as the decisive games where we lost the battle.

I genuinely feel like we need to beat Goons, United and Liverpool to do it now. Otherwise I fear we will spend the remainder of the season looking up and building hypothetical scenarios in our heads based on other teams losing.

Unless we give those teams a knock ourselves I just can’t see them losing enough games for us to get ahead of them.
