It's bad news for us that City have pulled out of the deal.

If Sanchez goes to United, he makes them a better side and if Arsenal end up signing Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan I think they've done really well out of it to be honest.

Really really hope Aubameyang ends up somewhere else.

Yeah if those happen as seems pretty much assured, it couldn't have turned out much worse for us. Arsenal losing Sanchez but getting Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Malcom is a huge upgrade on a sulking player desperate to leave. United will be upgraded massively by Sanchez. Liverpool have signed a top centre back while retaining lots of attacking power despite the loss of Coutinho, and looks like they're going heavily for Lemar as well.

This window's really putting us in our place in terms of buying power and what we're up against.

Arsenal are the same as Liverpool. It's all about the attack. No denying Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan are quality in attack, but where's the defence or Midfield enforcer.

Feck the gooners, couldn't give a toss who they sign. At least Liverpool are trying to address areas of weakness ( goalkeeper aside )

We add one or two top quality players, a couple of good prospect types also, I'd suggest it is goonville that should be looking at Spurs in envy.

All wrapped up in a brand new, shiny stadium.

Wenger doesn't want Aubameyang. Wenger knows that he's trouble, hence none of the top clubs are remotely interested in him.

How come they're signing him then?

So Wenger can stitch them up with a troublesome player on a long contract before he leaves in the summer... :D

I'm intrigued as to why, other than for money, any big name player would choose to join them right now.
They're absolute dog shit on the pitch, their fans are rapidly losing the will to live and the chance of Wenger still being in charge next season must be extremely slim.

I also don't see Arsenal signing all three of Mkhitaryan, PEA and Malcolm.
Two at most, one more likely. It's not Wenger's way to spend big on multiple players in one window.
Even if they do, no guarantee of success with them. Lacazette has so far proven to be a bust...

Probably the reason why.

He's only proven to be a bust because of Wenger's incompetence. He should have been starting him from day one. Now he's lost confidence and form, god knows what he makes of PEA coming in as they won't be able to play together. Watching Lacazette's body language on Sunday, he looked utterly pissed off and is probably thinking "Why did I come here?"

Their signings now appear to be very 'scattergun', and they are going around with a wad of cash buying players to vacate the hole left by Sanchez, rather than think more strategically. It has similarities to what we did with the Bale money, except they are throwing more money around.

The problem is their are question marks around all of these targets.
PEA has attitude problems and is approaching 29, no guarantee he will continue at his peak for long or at all. He also plays in the same position as Lacazette, which begs the question, why aren't they spending big on a CM enforcer? It's their glaring weakness.
Malcom, whilst I think he's incredibly talented is choosing the wrong coach for his development, Wenger will not help him at all.
Mkhitaryan is low on form and confidence, not to mention that there are already questions regarding his ability to maintain consistency.

I would have slight concerns as it's a sign the board are willing to right some of the wrongs and they could get lucky if it all gelled, I just think a lot of what they are doing is spending big to appease the fans and take the heat off.

More news on Mkhitaryan

It is understood Borussia Dortmund have ruled out making a bid to take Henrikh Mkhitaryan back to Germany.

Dortmund inquired about Mkhitaryan before the transfer window opened but they felt the transfer fee was excessive.

And whilst Dortmund have previously bought back a number of players who have left the club, including former Manchester United player Shinji Kagawa, it is understood they have no intention of bidding for Mkhitaryan.

In addition, Dortmund have had no offer from Arsenal for Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gunners are reported to be interested in Aubameyang, who was dropped at the weekend for disciplinary reasons.

Seems like Mkhitaryan is holding up this deal and it will collapse unless he agrees with the Scum. i.e. pay me more.

He's very much in the driving seat here from my perspective. The whole deal rests on him actually agreeing to be a makeweight in it and he's entitled to ask for his fair share from it as well.

As per the BBC story and the PEA rumours, i wouldn't be surprised at all if he wanted to go back to Germany.

All in all i hope it ends up very messy :)

Less money but heavy incentives apparently. England's best midfielder (TM the press) being offered a paycut. Obviously it's due to his fitness. Wonder if he'll accept it or chance his luck in the summer.

What's that, 20 fags and a tongue strap.

Apparently less than what he's on now but with more bonuses:

It's a busy time at Arsenal

More Arsenal news now - this time from our senior football reporter.....

I understand Arsenal have offered a new deal to Jack Wilshere. The offer is less money than his current deal but its heavily incentivised.

The England international is out of contract at the Emirates at the end of the season.

Wilshere was recently quoted as saying, "I've had loads of questions about my future and there's nothing more I can say until something is official and we can concentrate on the future."
