But he's had such a stellar career for club and country ..

What's daft with journos making comments like that, is that every Arsenal fan i have and will speak to, will completely disagree with that view. I hate making what appear to be hyperbolic statements like that but i for the life of me can't see what he's done which is steller and i don't watch him every week like many of those Arsenal fans who would agree.

Being a standout player in a standout team (or even a good to average team) you'd argue your case but he's been an also-ran selection in some very disappointing Arse and England teams over the years. He's been nothing but a let-down IMO.

I think Walcott is a decent squad player for Arsenal. He never reach the heights that people expected of him. But then again... Very few hyped up youngsters do.

A decent professional. A couple of serious injuries here and there, but did get important goals for Arsenal. As a spurs fan. I still hated him for picking the other side of London, so I am happy he didn't become great. LoL.

I think it's a pretty good signing for Everton. They have 2 really young and exciting forwards that really need that experience that he will give him. Plus... It's really his big chance to show what he can do being first choice.

Interesting to see Walcott and Lennon in the same team. Once upon a time... Both were fighting for the same spot in England's first team.

Great post.

today's lunch time laugh was considering Everton are trying to create the England 2012ish squad.

Rooney, Walcott, Lennon, Jagyelka, Baines.....cheeky loan offer for gareth barry?

If he would stop the "I'm a centre forward and not a winger" bullshit, he would have been a much better player.

Him and Bale both 'had something about them' when they left Southampton. Walcott feels like a massive waste of talent. But then look at Ox rediscovering his drive and dynamism already...

Theo never has the footballing technique of brain that those two have. His touch is woeful and he can't dribble or pass. A good finish and great pace but that's it.

If he was serious about being a centre forward he should have left Arsenal when he didn't get the chances or wasn't starting - should have left Arsenal to go to Everton or a club at that level to be their main man 6 years ago.

He's never, ever a CF. I don't care if he played for Stoke.

Lineker thinks hes far to cool for school. Lost interest in the tosspot after the Leicester season.
Yesterday he made the same 'ha, but who will manage the friendlies, hahahahaaaaaa' joke about Giggs and Wales as Richard Keys. Less than 5 mins between posts. Keysy and Links. Banter buddies. Lads.

This Walcott transfer just highlights how well our club is being run.

We had already sold Bale for the world's highest transfer fee so many seasons ago and, despite Walcott and Bale were moved on from Southampton at the same time, and Walcott is still mediocre by scum standard for such a long 10, 12 years!

Then we have Everton who are spending silly money in the last summer but could well be flirting with relegation if not for big Sam coming in to rescue them when big profile managers are what they wanted. Not to mention Walcott again, another past-the-prime players of stupid wages who Everton actually think is worth signing!

How I wish along the context of such, we can have this progression of improvement of our club being amplified in media all over, as a role model for really ambitious clubs to look upon to. And not those caps that consistently underlined our stars had no intention to stay due to low wages ffs.

If Walcott had signed for us from Southampton instead of Arsenal I wonder if he'd be a better player now or would we have sold him and he'd be playing his trade at Swansea rather than stealing a living at Arsenal.

Lots is down to the attitude of the player but he obviously hasn't been coached properly in his time there.

Also I don't actually see where Walcott fits in at Everton. He isn't a striker and they've already got enough attackers playing behind one.

This is were Redknapp gets it wrong since he left us.
Tried and tested 'good ole boys' but thats just it, old boys. After a while it looks like jobs for the boys rather than whats needed.
That said I do think Walcot improves Everton.

Tbf his main asset is pace and I literally cannot think of a single Everton player, let alone forward who I would call pacey
