FAYC: GOAL! Mistake at the back for @afcbournemouth sees Griffiths run free to slot low beyond Dennis and into the far corner. 2-0, 56mins #COYS

Can’t even begin to imagine what Griffiths will physically be like at 20 if he’s this strength at 17. Could definitely be in the drogba Lukaku category on pure physicality. If the rest of his game matches his brute force could be a special one.

They're including Pogba for what it's worth.

I'm not sure of the validity of that. Would Liverpool have got brownie points when they were playing Gerrard & Carragher when both were in the their mid thirties? Would Chelski have got points when they were playing a 52 year old John Terry a couple of seasons ago?

What we're interested in is how many minutes home grown players under, say, 21 are getting. That gives us a much clearer picture of who's actually giving youth chances. As it stands, this "research" is completely pointless.

Fair points. Off the top of my head the 21 and under players are:

City - Foden
Liverpool - Alexander-Arnold
Chelsea - Christiansen
Arsenal - Maitland-Niles
Spurs - Winks, KWP
Utd - Rashford, McTominay

Christiansen was a starter in the Bundesliga for the last two years on loan. KWP made one game on opening day and McTominay has made 101 minutes over the course of three sub appearances so you can discount them and Foden's seven minutes.

Rashford, Winks and TAA were already first team members so only Maitland-Niles has broken through this season.

Nedum Onuoha got a good point here ;)

https://talksport.com/football/phil...nchester-city-youngster-told-he-may-have-move

Speaking to The Sun, he said: "Foden could be Spurs' next star and then could come back to City - that would be great for him.

"He is certainly good enough to play but, when you have brought in a mega money player, you don't buy him not to play him.

"It doesn't mean Foden's failed if he moves."

Onuoha, who played 116 times for City and is now at Queens Park Rangers, added: "Thinking about maybe having a 10-to-15-year career as such, you can't really waste it. You can't spend a year not playing if you're fit.

"In the end he will get what he deserves, whether that's at City or somewhere else."

I don't think that's accurate either as McTominay and Tuanzebe have both had minutes.
