So does Davies. We need a rose replacement, not a Davies' one

Both Sessegnon and Tierney can do that. Tierney offers a little more as he can also play as a centre back.

ITK indicates that we want Sessegnon and it appears that we have been after him since the summer. Spurs need some certainty in the left back position, assuming that Rose will move now or in the summer. If Fulham and/or Sessegnon are baulking at a move now then we have a quality alternative in the form of Tierney.

If I was in Sessegnon's boots I'd be anxious that the move is made now. Delaying it could mean no move to a club that is probably best suited to bring him to the next level.

Other than not having any ITK on Tierney, we should also stop discussing him because he's a lifelong Celtic fan and has no intention of leaving.

Best business we can do now is contract-related, and sorting out the finances. Any squad additions would be bonus.

Latest ITK sounds much more realistic in terms of what we do in January.

Would love to get Sessegnon done immediately but if it means a loan for the rest of the season then so be it.

We don't have ITK on Tierney - but we do have ITK on Sessegnon. And the comments made are relevant as it shows that if Sessegnon does not move to us when we want then there are alternatives to him, Tierney being one of them.

Sessegnon's advisers need to be very careful how they proceed here. I suspect that the player is keen on a move to Spurs. If this fails because his agent doesn't push hard for it then the agent's position with Sessegnon may very well deteriorate to the point that he will change his agent in due course.

It's not relevant at all. That gives license to discuss any player.

Of course it's relevant. And I have explained how it's relevant. ITK has indicated that Spurs would like to take Sessegnon now - but there are problems making it happen. Sessegnon should consider that if it does not happen now then it may not happen at all. Tierney is one example of an alternative for the position. There are others of course.

Could well be the case but you are suspecting a lot tbh when you (or the rest of us) probably don’t really know what’s going on?

Ok lets fill the place with alternatives for players we've had ITK on, that won't get the thread locked or anything.

Sessegnon isn’t going to be a left back long term I don’t think. His future further forward.

As much as I think contracts for key players are important, we can do that anytime. Much like finances and sponsors, which we should be doing anyway seeing as we are building a stadium!

On the other hand, I would quite like us to be doing transfer business in the actual transfer window (y).

There's a player thread to discuss the merits/abilities and whatnot of a player, any player at any time. We don't need to have the same discussions every time there's been ITK on that player. Sessegnon? I don't care, take it to his thread.

The rules state that NO TWITTER under any circumstances. I've underlined the relevant bit, so that's the end of that argument.

And finally, whoever it was that brought Tierney into this thread is going for the one way walk.

See? No more persistent warnings, just pull the trigger. I love this new policy. I don't think I've ever been so relaxed in a transfer window.
