Can't really blame Norwich for wanting 25mill. As someone said earlier, they've just sold Pritchard, so if Maddison went too, they'd have lost a big bit of their first XI spine.

Also, imo, people saying we need to get used to these over-inflated prices: i can't see this trend lasting too long. As others have said, you'll probably see more players run down their contracts and force their clubs to sell them at cheaper rates. I imagine within the next couple of years we may see the going rate for players begin to level out and then hopefully decrease

I hate seeing the ever increasing large sums of money of going into agents pockets in fees.

Some of these recent figures being bandied about are obscene.

Seems strange if we were letting them have Edwards for a run at maddison we would have had some idea how much they wanted for him

Love the info, thanks @Hercules

Sanchez over Mawson was a total no brainer, and great work from our transfer team.

If we could get say a Frenkie De Jong ahead of Maddison for a much better deal I'd go for that too. Ajax have been good to us. Kluivert like you mentioned (and have before) being another quality player we should be looking at, very skillful.

The inflated market for English talent means we have to really look after the likes of Winks and KWP and integrate them properly to keep our homegrown numbers up. It's also more reason to pay what it takes to get Sessegnon who looks 100% the real deal.

It's not just English talent, or even Britsh based talent. Prices are rocketing everywhere, as soon as a Prem team gets involved. Some of the asking prices I have heard are enormous, and it's no surprise very little business is being done anywhere. Players in January usually have a premium attached but this year is ridiculously high, even in comparison to other January windows.

Which is typical considering it sounds like we actually fancied doing some January business for once!

Don’t make me so
We work as a team, more than you could ever imagine. JJ, Trix, Gyid, Breezer, Trix, Grey Fox, and couple more. Have no egos, giving very honest information.

Special shout out to Rob & A&C, very top guys, and no mugs:p
Well a big shout out to you and your work recently, and Trix, JJetset, Breezer, Gyid, Grey Fox (pity about retirement!) but lets also mention and appreciate Rebrab, Val, and Igijedi for their input over the years. Oh and a massive shout out to Dov for the utterly amazing whoring job he does.
All you guys (and the dildo wielding A&C) make this place a special place to be during the transfer window.
Thanks again. (y)

things could change between now and the window, depends if Norwich need the money or not
I dont think Maddison would leave at the min anyway to go to a top 6 club, he seems to have his head screwed on and wants to play, i dont think he would leave to sit on the bench, someone like a Southampton might suit him
They'll only have 8 players left he if goes so yeah, they need the money lol.

Well an example of this for you.....Swansea put an enquiry in for a Spanish player I am not going to name the side we’re happy to sell to any other team for £15M.

They wanted 45M from Swansea just as they are a premier league team.

They were also quoted 19M for A certain ex English youth right back of ours.

January is not the time for doing business.

The only shame is the death of ITK is bad for the server costs for the site :(

I think we are always looking to do business in January, as long as the deal is right. The fact is though no team wants to lose their important players in January and so the price in most cases reflect that. We are not talking about small amounts either, we are talking tens of millions in certain cases.

ex English youth right back? Belonging to Spurs? Can only think of KWP. If it's him, it's quite disappointing to think we'd let him go so cheap.
