the 'I respect Man United because they generate the money they pay with their own resources.' thing? I've just finished laughing about it. What a thing to say when you're selling your best player to them because he doesn't want to stay anymore. Up there with Moyes saying he wants West Ham to play like their two biggest rivals.

This was amusing but I'm actually referring to the bit where Dortmund hit back over their public chase of Aubameyang.

Even if he is Brazilian Walcott he will offer more than those two.

Like free tickets to Rio's carnival? :cautious:

Just kidding

But his nan would probably offer more than the real McCoy (just don't tell Rooney)

hell yes get him. we rarely do January business but if we want top 4 we are probably going to need one more player that can come off the bench a score late in tight games. think of the FA semi last year.

When Lamela set up Kane at Leicester in his return to the side I believe that was the first goal or assist off of our bench all season (at the time). I'm not even sure if there have been further since. Its a big issue for us.

I'd certainly rather throw Moura on than say Sissoko or GKN if we needed a goal.

Edit: Having a genuine RW option also allows us to use Lamela as a #10 if Eriksen is not playing.

Another good attacking option, that's what we need. Make it happen if the price is reasonable.

Our old friend Di Marzio is linking Moura with Napoli, which is weird considering they have quite a lot of IMO superior attacking talent already (Mertens, Insigne, etc...)

Would imagine he is a depth signing for us and them.

Their depth in attacking areas is rubbish though.

Would it all be possible that a loan for Moura is a back-up plan? Perhaps our number one option is better and it may not be possible to bring him in now (JJ & Hercules suggestions don't seem to allude to Moura being that player). Therefore a loan for Moura helps us out in the meantime, and if he impresses then we may opt for him in the summer, if that's how the cards fall.

I think we have to be really smart with how we do our business. Wer'e not in a position to throw £30m+ at a player if we are not fully convinced, therefore a loan makes sense as a late option.

Perhaps there is a space opening up with one of those two then, if Moura isn't the real target........

I just don't think these types of transfers will happen, they don't normally seem to. The well known, popular, highly rated player, the Lucas Moura, Draxler, Salah (before he was signed) or even Mahrez type names, they just don't seem to be what Poch goes for, for whatever reason. I mean the type of transfers that make other people look and start to worry at how much better they may make our team. I don't think we've had one signing like that under Poch, not off the type of my head. At least attacker wise. There have been signings that have strengthened the team of course, but no real big statement signings.
