So say this happens which seems most likely.
Out: coquelin £12m
Walcott £20m
Sanchez swap
In: Mkhitaryan swap
Aubamyeng £60m

For me even if the 2 in perform well they are probably worse off and £30m spent. With both of new boys very dodgy character wise. Also both around 29. For me it’s another step towards decline with £30m spent and still virtually a whole new defence to buy.

I'd quite like something to go wrong with the Sanchez deal right now.... he's clearly not arsed to play for them, it'd be so funny if he went off on a free in July.... as mentioned above - they look to be getting a couple of decent players out of it...

Let's not forget the Arse cash flow has taken a hit, with the loss of Champs league money which is substantial and now also
an FA cup run which was happily terminated in the 3rd round.

Can't see anything going wrong now. That 400k a week will have his eyes gleaming and United are clearly pulling out all the stops to get him. Only way it happens if City have a change of heart.

I'm starting to lose interest in the PL now, every club (us excluded) only seem to care about throwing money at players that will help them win stuff NOW rather then develop their own or buy a player to develop. It's boring and goes against everything that I enjoy about the game, and most fans are only concerned about getting one over on a rival fan rather than actually take pride in their club. Not enough people love the game for what it's supposed to be about.

It's happened to Arsenal - although I couldn't give shit about them - they've fallen into the cycle of spending obscene money on players getting to the end of their peak rather than try to change the attitude at the club with players you could mould. Like what Poch did.

*Having said that at least Pep does buy potential, coach them and integrate them (Jesus & Sane).

I hate to admit it...

But if they do get Mkhitaryan, Aubamyeng, and ozil agrees a contract extension... Would be a great January for them.

Would like nothing more then for everything to fall apart... And seeing them lose both players on a Bosman.

Agree, but naive to think they won't strengthen this window anyway.

No way Ozil signs a new deal now. No chance. Doesn't benefit him in any way. Might as well see listen to what others would be prepared to offer and in the summer he'll still have options, as well as be aware of where arsenal are in terms of league position etc.

I agree, there is the World Cup finals only 6 months away, he might as well hoover up his chickenfeed £140k per week wages and look around for a sweeter deal while taking things easy for now.

I doubt anyone would offer much more, even on a free.

Not necessarily now, but I don't think it's as unrealistic for him to stay at Arsenal as some people are suggesting. He's a long way off being as highly prized as Sanchez and if Arsenal are desperate to save face his biggest offer might end up being from Arsenal. As I said in my other post, I don't really think he's that great a signing for any of the clubs that could afford to pay him more than Arsenal so I don't think they'll all be bending over backwards for him unless he absolutely bosses it at the WC, which is unlikely.

That is the only reasin he would sign a new contract. He has thrown his toys out the pram trying to orchestrate a move.

But unlike Sanchez no one wants him.

He has probably screwed himself because if he had no takers then there is no pressure for Arsenal to improve his terms and they could probably offer new contract on lower terms although this could demotivate him even more

Knowing Arsenal they will probably double his wages though.

If they sell Coquelin, they sell their only proper DM. Will make even more hilarious seeing Xhaka picking up red cards.

Regardless of selling Walcott and Sanchez, their glaring weakness is their aging, and already dubious defence, and no good defensive midfielder.

They aren't all that bad going forward generally but if you look at a lot of the goals they concede, it's due to xhaka ambling back and not tracking runners.

With Monreal, Mertesacker, Koscielny all the wrong side of 30 they are going to need to replace, especially when Holding and Chambers aren't up to the job. This, especially following the VVD transfer (and even our Sanchez) is going to cost North of £100m. Even replacing with Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang isn't really solving the issue as they are both relatively short term options with both being nearly 30.

Especially if they miss out on CL football again, they could be in real trouble. Let's hope eh...
