As much as we all crave a signing I can't get on board with this guy. He may turn out to be a gem and I'll be happy to be proved wrong, although he doesn't strike me as any more than a potential back up and is only an option because he's quick.

We don't need squad fillers, we need maybe a CM and a speedy attacker who are of top quality and the squad is pretty much complete.

Would rather save any of our cash to have a go at a major target in the summer.

Unless this is my favourite window cliche of the 'smokescreen' :cautious:

I'd only be interested in a loan with an option to buy for Moura. He's got a lot to prove before we commit to a fee and contract. Lamela is making good progress and we apparently weren't interested in selling GKN to Burnley so I don't see a permanent place being available as things stand. He's obviously got ability but it's been a long time since he showed it.

If we could get this deal done for £25 million than I think that would be a superb bit of business for today's market. Knowing Levy, it will probably be in instalments too!

Just about every deal is instalments. It's not a Levy thing.

Lucas Moura is a seasoned campaigner - dependable player. I don't think he will ever be the goto star player. But put him against any side in the world, I don't think he will look out of place unlike few in our squad.

I would only took at him as a back up option. But if we are not close to signing any better targets, we should go get him.

#thfc have concrete interest in signing PSG winger Lucas Moura with the winger very keen on joining the club. [L'Equipe]

This was posted by a few fan sites this morning but I struggled to find anything new on the website (not easy however as I was relying on google translate).

You'd think if we want him he'd fancy it, pacey forwards can do well here and he has the Aurier link.

I really doubt we would pursue a loan. Levy has never been keen on them and I don’t think it fits with Poch’s emphasis on total commitment to the shirt.

I think he'd be a good signing - he's stagnated a bit at PSG, but he's a very talented guy.

I think he’d be decent for us. He’s not the one trick ( pace ) people assume he is.

I agree, he is more about skill on the ball than pace. He actually has similar attributes to our key players in that sense - the ability to control a ball well in tight spaces and then do something positive and attacking focused with it.

He's a bit on the small side of Poch, but IMO would be an excellent addition to the squad and would allow us to stop using Sissoko.

Yeah he'd be a massive upgrade on Sissoko in the RW position at the very least (but that's a low bar). Sissoko if he sticks around could be 5th choice CM which is about right.

So they're talking about opening talks, but no one has spoken yet.......the silence is deafening, whilst they're talking, about talking.

Just seems to me that he's been very underwhelming at PSG for a long time and we'd need a bit of a 'try before you buy' option. £27m is a big gamble when you consider some of the huge talents that have lost form and never recovered it.

Trouble is that IF he was playing as he did when he first signed for PSG then a) he wouldn't be for sale and b) he'd be worth around €60m+

The current market is a mess and frankly the only players we can really afford are ones like this - players with potential to be world class but been on a bit of a slow run of form, but yet still young enough to be turned around.
