If they find out, you will be ejected

I have seen fans celebrate and get ejected, too right as well

Absolutely, this thread is not meant to encourage anybody to be disobedient. I'm going in the home end, but I intend to wear neutral colours and keep my mouth shut. I've done it before for instance at Old Trafford, and it's not terribly hard to fly under the radar with a respectful mindset.

Prices are 100 euro + which means that not everybody in Italy can afford to go, even if they would want to, and the capacity is 80 000 people.

Yeah tickets in Serie A are normally about 20 euro so 100+ for this is ridiculous. I'm not trying to be funny, but if we're honest with ourselves it's not like we're THAT big a draw either i.e. if they were playing Barca or something then you'd expect it to be expensive because it's a prestigious tie, but we're not really at that level yet.

Oh and the capacity is nowhere near 80,000. You might be thinking of the Stadio delle Alpi, but they moved out of there years ago. Their new ground is much smaller than that.

Just a word to the wise. If you're going as a "home" fan, for your own sake try and get tickets along the side of the pitch rather than behind the goal with the ultras. Behind the goal there's all sorts of internal politics and squabbling between different groups of Ultras that dictates which areas each group stands in etc. let alone random away fans, so it'll be pretty easy to land yourself in bother unless you speak excellent italian. Also because of this, the same groups always stand together etc. so you'll stick out like a sore thumb because nobody will recognize you, and their suspicions will be confirmed when you don't join in with any of the chants. it could even be as simple as one of them checks you out by asking for the time/a lighter etc. and when you clearly don't know what they've said they'll know right away you're not one of them, even if they hadn't worked it out already.

It's one of them things where maybe because you're not from a "rival" club's fans, they won't really care, but for me it just isn't worth the potential agro. If they don't like it then they won't mess around.

I went to Juventus v Torino last season. I was advised not to go by two Juventus fans i know. Said it would be impossible to get tickets and it was highly likely we would get stabbed. In the event we got tickets at the gate and the atmosphere inside was very civilised. It was like being at the opera.

I'm in Turin now, got ticket to see Juventus v Genoa on Monday, I'll let you all know if I don't make it.
It was 60 euro for my ticket, from the official site and its up in the heavens. 30 sheets and you'll end up in the ultras pack

I've been to loads of Serie A games and been fine so I'm not saying it's some sort of death-trap by any means, but it's a bit different being a neutral fan going to the game in the general stands as opposed to being a fan of the opposing team stood in the middle of their most die-hard supporters.

I'm not saying anyone's going to get stabbed or whatever, just that at the very least, you're likely to get "outed" as a Spurs fan within 5 minutes and it's hard to know how people will react to that. Best case scenario, they think you're a bit of a twat for being in their end but don't really bother you, worst case scenario you get a hiding, or anything in between. It could even just be as simple as you getting kicked out by the stewards, in which case you've wasted a lot of time and money. For me it just isn't worth the potential agro. Again though, I'm talking about getting tickets behind the goal with the ultras, not just being in the stadium generally, which will be perfectly fine.

I agree. There is also a difference between being an away supporter from an Italian team, and being an away supporter from an English team. But generally I don't think anybody should be afraid og going. Just follow the advice about who/where to avoid, and try not to make a proper fool of oneself.

Going to any match and being an away supporter in the home end could be risky. I did it at Fulham a few years ago, we won 3-0 and so you can imagine it was quite hard not to at least smile, I remember Sandro even scored so it was a really hard to keep a lid on my reactions. I wasn't the only Spur in the home end however and the other guy, I don't know who he was/is couldn't keep his emotions down as well as I could. He was sat down near the front, 5th or 6th row, directly behind the goal and although I couldn't hear him, (I was also behind the goal but nearer the top of the stand) he was obviously making enough noises, gestures etc to give away the fact he was an away fan and I could see some of the Fulham fans giving him a bit of grief, verbal and a few hand gestures and the like. When we scored the first goal though he's only gone and jumped up celebrating the fact and earned the displeasure of the whole stand (except for me) who then turned on him a bit nastier and things got thrown. The stewards were in there quickly though and ejected him sharpish! I remember when he was getting chucked out there was a bit of pushing me shoving that could have turned bad if the stewards hadn't reacted so quickly.

Anyway, you never really know so why take the risk?
