Hmm assumed trix's nice spin post was about Goons walking away because of money. Seems not. Also ties in with Herc saying him wanting Goons over us is crap.

One to watch. Issue as ever will be agreeing the fee.

It's interesting.

I think people are putting too much on this kid to be instantly super-amazing if he comes.

He's one that we'd need to be patient with and let develop.

Not disputing this for a second, just curious as to why you're confident he couldn't come in and hit the ground running like Davinson Sanchez?

Thing that excites me is it seems he might be on the rise this season, so it could be the perfect time to buy him. It could also just be a purple patch inflating his worth

I hope this isn't a repeat of our ability to sign players from Ligue 1 who turn out to be not all that. E.g. GKN & Njie

Hmmmmm...definitely more excited by this than Moura. I’ll keep my old fella in my pants until he’s signed on the dotted line though

Just my instinct.

Davidson is extremely mature and very intelligent for his age and has an incredible 'Ledders-like' temperament.

I also think it's always more tricky for creatives as they have lots more pressure on them to produce 'magic'.

Prem is unique; it's a different proposition. Just think people need to hold back a little and give the boy room/space up-front instead of expecting him to instantly tear it up.

He's also extremely one footed from what I've seen and will get sussed quickly if he doesn't begin to add more scope.

I'm excited, but calm. Let me put it that way.

Difficult to say if he will be next N'jie or next Son but we all know we can't afford ready players and have to take risk. But what I like the most is that we have addressed squad weaknes and made moves. In January! Of course he has to sign before I say 'good job Daniel'. But I am little bit excited :D.

Im still really not sure he would be my choice at 40/50 mil or thereabouts and im sure we would have to pay more now considering how bad Bordeaux are at the moment. Im also not completely sold on his ability but it will be exciting to see how/if he can develop into a real player.
This.

Another bit on this...

Tottenham to leave Arsenal behind and close in on €40m signing, meeting in London today
By Lucas Sposito -
19th January 2018

It seems that Tottenham Hotspur have taken the lead in the race for the Brazilian forward Malcom.
Even though the 20-year-old was close to a move to Arsenal, the Gunners’ interest has apparently gone a bit cold, with their North London rivals taking the chance to make an approach.

As reported by UOL today, Malcom’s representatives have had a meeting with Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino this week. The agents were delighted with the Argentine boss, who promised to make the player one of the best in Europe in three years time.

UOL had already reported Spurs had a €35m bid for the player turned down by Bordeaux in December, and the new offer would be of around €40m, with the possibility of getting to €50m in case certain bonuses are reached.

Tottenham’s advantage in the race is also reported by Goal Brasil today. The website had already been following Arsenal’s pursuit, and now claims that after the Gunners gave up, Spurs have another meeting in London with the player’s representatives scheduled for Friday.

So is Dembele, he is also pretty predictable in how he is going to go past a player, still extremely difficult to stop him doing it though.
