Whether he comes now or summer, I don't care.

One less summer signing to think about is great news. All we need is a CM then pretty much.

On CM I'd go all out for Luka modric in the summer. And let Joss be his understudy

Tbh if he comes in the summer that's grand - he may actually have more of an impact then after a full pre-season with us rather than being dropped in now.

Man signing sessegnon and Malcom will really inject some much needed pace and guile to our team, would only need a cm after that really as an absolute must and then possibly a backup striker

The impatient side of me (I pretty much buy everything through Amazon Prime for a reason!) will struggle to cope with us signing him now, ahead of the summer, but I'd appreciate it's a smart move if we do it.

Would just suck owning an player like this and not being able to use him for this massive PL run in, especially if we get any injuries or struggle to break down defences. I hope once a deal is close to being agreed both us and the player can try and force it through for this window.

However getting the player signed up when available is key, as he is clearly on the radar of other teams.

Your opinion on him? Squad or first teamed? Never seen this guy before in my life

Any attacking player we sign is going to technically be squad rather than first team. There's no one unless we somehow sign Neymar who is starting ahead of what we have. Poch loves Eriksen and Dele and Son has made him love him. Those 3 are unimproveable, beyond them is the issue. If they're fit next season they're all starting 30+ PL games but it's all the games they need resting or if 3 games in week, CL, Cup etc. We need someone along with Lamela whereas there isn't a drop off in quality. We also need someone genuinely putting pressure on them so they stay in form. Bit like City with Bernardo Silva, Chelsea with Willian, Liverpool with Lallana now I guess. That extra guy who can come off bench with impact but also be relied on to start.

Celebrating and being happy right after they lost a game 3-0 or something. Something Bordeaux couldn't tolerate

Llorente was laughing on the pitch after we lost to Arsenal, apparently he's popular in the dressing room. Appropriate no, excusable? Probably.

I mentioned a couple of months ago that Malcom would be my pick as I believe he has a really high ceiling. So I'm hoping we get further positive news in the coming days.

Dude we literally signed Aurier, a player who was appealing against a criminal conviction and had multiple disciplinary problems with PSG - and he's apparently very popular in the squad.

To get the deal done now and to have him at Spurs from the first day of pre-season in the summer is fundamental to Pochettino. Remember the press conference after the summer window when he said Spurs can't keep leaving it to the last minute? He said in December: ‘We need to identify targets so that when we start our pre-season they are here’. (Maybe an indirect to Levy and co.)

The main reason being new players need a full pre-season under Pochettino to understand the physical and tactical demands, giving him the best chance to play and succeed from the off.

I'd like to think if the likes of N’Jie, N'Koudou and (God blimey) Sissoko had a full pre-season they would’ve faired out as better signings. Just a thought

There is no way we are breaking our transfer record and loaning the player straight back.

Good point, but there has been a lot of noise about wanting to get deals for the summer done now. Could be that we consider him a target for the summer, but want to get the deal done now to avoid all the messing about in the summer.

I 100% Agree with this, vital that new signings get a full pre season. If it happens in jan, ill be thrilled and be keen to watch him over the next few months.

My thought as well...and considering they are 2pts above the drop I just don’t know if they’d sell outright without that loan back. Would have been a good time to use GKN as a chip to get Malcom in.

I think it's a smart new method of doing business. Not only the preseason point but it also protects against price inflation, increased competition and potentially takes missing out on CL out of the equation also.

I remember us being linked strongly with Hazard when flying under Harry (Jan/Feb). We all know what happened there.

I'd wager the likes of Martial (Monaco), Keita Balde and Lemar were all being talked to in the Jan window prior to us losing out on them in early in the respective summer windows, maybe we could have struck a similar deal then. Lessons learned?

I'd still want him now though and I'm sure the player would prefer!

Would be a bit counter intuitive to loan him back. We need anither option at AM and I think this signing could be a real boost to the squad morale as a whole signalling that we’re going for our goals in all comps(top 4, trophies and CL)
