I think if we can get it done it'll be a very add on heavy deal. Maybe £25m up front and up to £30m in add ons

Or maybe he didn't want to fuck them over and walk for a tribunal fee.
Yeah I agree with you. He has to be thankful to Fulham cos without them he may not have got the opportunity to earn loads of money and have a great lifestyle. Although I think he should've put in like a £15m-£20m buyout clause in his contract so it's like a thank you to Fulham but also I don't want a £50m price tag on my head who no one will pay

Would you say that if it was Arsenal in for him?
Of course not but I would've hoped Spurs could offer him something that Fulham can't which is a top 6 club competing for trophies. I've said for a while that I don't know why more agents don't insist on buyout clauses, clubs ask for so much money nowadays it can be so hard to get out and secure your dream move. If I was a player I'd consider a smaller wage but with a buyout clause to keep your options open

Why should Fulham lose out? They've invested a lot of time and money in to him, they deserve every penny they can get for him.

Fair play to Sess, he clearly has a great attitude and I'd love him to come to Spurs. It's basically player power v club power, if he had the the buyout clause he'd be in control but without one the club are. With a £20m buyout clause in his contract every one of the top 6 clubs would've activated it and he could've taken his pick

Which is exactly my point. Why shouldn't the club have control? They're the ones who have invested in him. Why should the richest clubs be able to go around activating release clauses and stockpiling the best youth whilst fucking over the clubs that have developed them?

Let's drop the "poor player being held ransom act". This is about people being pissy about us possibly missing out because Fulham want a high fee.

Liverpool will pay that. They overpaid by £30 or £40 mil for Van Dijk. Man City constantly overpays. So does United. It's why transfer fees are out of control and Fulham can demand an outrageous fee for Sess. Levy was right when he called the current transfer environment in the PL unsustainable. Within the next decade we're going to see another Leeds situation.

I feel like the club owe sess a little, he didn't have to sign the contract last year and we could have got him at a tribunal fee. Now they're trying to pull our pants down, £50m for the pair is outrageous (if true) 30-35m for both seems fair

My thoughts were if there's a £20m buyout clause every top 6 team will pay that without hesitation as it would be a bargain, but at £50m you would have to really consider how desperately you need him. Must be really hard for Levy cos the transfer market is mad but if he wants to keep Poch happy, he needs to pay over the odds for players. Levy paying £50m for a championship player would be a big statement his desire to keep Poch

You should never be paying £50 mil for a player like Sess. Poch is more than bright enough to realize that. It's just bad business. He may be another Bale. He could also be the next Theo Walcott. It's impossible to tell he's all potential right now. I'd like the player at the club but not at anywhere near that price. There are better more proven players we could be spending that money on.

Yeah I completely agree. It's crazy how much the transfer market has changed since before last summer. When we were linked with paying £25m for him in the summer I couldn't believe he'd cost that much, now Fulham possibly want double that. Madness.

£50m is way too much we should be looking elsewhere for a proven left back at that price
It's madness. If Poch is truly the FB whisperer then he should be able to coach anyone up. That LB from Norwich did not look shabby for a young player. There is no way Sessegnon is that much better than him having seen them both now. Also, at that number you would have to consider Luke Shaw from United.
