Is Courtois injured? This bald bloke looks dodgy as hell.

Shame it's probably not going to matter this game.

The first was a pen, the second probably not. What's not under debate is that Jon Moss is losing control of yet another match. He needs to go. Worst referee in the league by far.

I'm starting to think people just like being outraged.

Tuesday - "VAR is ruining the game. Just let the referee do their job and go with the decision on the field"

Wednesday - "VAR is a joke. Clearly the system is a failure"

Today - "Worst referee in the world"

And that's probably the same bloke with all three.

You could say that in any game about any ref and nobody would argue
True. But Moss is especially awful. Every match he works seems to devolve into him with a circle of players around him arguing. He's more of an attention whore than an actual referee.

What I didn't understand about Shearer's whinging about VAR is that his desired outcome (Ref decision being final) was exactly what happened in the Moses penalty incident. The ref said no pen and gave a yellow for the dive. Shearer moans that it's clear mistake but HE DOESN'T WANT VAR - so he got the outcome his preferred policy would create.

First was pen and the second one wasn't.

I'm not sure either were. The player definitely got touched by the goalie in the first one but he could have stayed on his feet. He didn't have to collapse like a sack of spuds. I know the current trend is to fall over if touched in the area and also ex-pros to say it's fine but it's a bit weak.

I'd agree that the first one wasn't nailed on. I'd also wager that if we had VAR today, it would not have resulted in a penalty kick. It was very similar to the Chelsea PK/dive Wednesday.

It wasn't similar. Willian was going down before the contact. The Brighton player got fouled before going down and then for some reason decided to exaggerate it
