I get that everyone has different ways of supporting their team but I don't think I'll ever understand why sissoko, a player who's never done anything wrong except not be at the level his price tag suggests he should be, gets so much hate from our own fans

I don’t hate him, will never boo him, but I still don’t think he’s good enough for a top 4 team.

If Poch is picking him then it’s clearly for physical reasons rather than his footballing ability. Fair enough but doesn’t mean I have to like it.

I would have started sissoko over lamela today. Lamela has looked off the pace (understandably) since he’s been back

If Lamela isn’t ‘fit’ then he shouldn’t be on the bench. If he is ‘fit’ then it’s a no brainer that he should come in for Eriksen. Creativity for creativity, not a reincarnation of Zokora for Eriksen.

The flip side is - lets say we start Lamela and we are still chasing a goal - who do you bring on?

Maybe Lamela is not match fit enough to go 90 - but can come in and give you 20-30 minutes?

Sissoko instead of Lamela!?!?!?

I wonder if Lamela is off with the rumored signing of Malcom+Sess both able to play the same side as he does plus Son and Dele, and Lamela not getting start ....looks like Lamela is out of favour

It’s not Sissoko that’s getting most of the criticism, it’s Pochettino for continually selecting him. Today we have Wanyama (CM) and Lamela (AM) as much, much better options - depending on where he’s playing.

Maybe?

Vorm
Dier Sanchez Verts
Aurier Dembele Sissoko Davies
Son Dele
Kane

Kind of hoping this is it, at least it gives the decision of starting Sissoko over Lamela
some much needed sense...

And then wonder why so many other fans hate spurs

I cant understand how people can STILL criticise a Poch team. He is the ultimate troll. he knows we gonna be mad with it, then as the final whistle blows after a 4-0 win, he'll just shrug his shoulders and ask what all the fuss was about... how many times have we wondered what hes up to, only for a comfortable win to be the end result? Hes got this.

i get it if he was easing Wanyama back as he just got back to full fitness but Lamela has been fit for quite a few weeks now..he should be match fit for a start

It’s better to start with your better players and start in a positive manner than it is to chase a game. We’ve really struggled when we’ve fell behind in games. Recently Poch has played all out attack and we’ve crucified teams... reverting back to a ‘reserved’ line up is very risky.

I don't hate Sissoko, and I hope he does well whenever he plays. But it's perfectly reasonable for fans to criticise poor performances. Even if you completely disregard his price tag, and imagine he was a youth player, he'd still have underperformed (though you'd hope people would still be constructive).

Not being very good is, I think, a completely justifiable reason for people to not want him starting.

I would say Sissoko’s direct running is probably better coming off the bench against tired legs though.

I wish people would stop moaning about Sissoko. You honestly think that Poch doesnt know that Lamela offers more creativity than him? Would you agree Poch knows more than we do about each players fitness? Lamela clearly still needs more time to start games in the league - deal with it folks.
