I get that everyone has different ways of supporting their team but I don't think I'll ever understand why sissoko, a player who's never done anything wrong except not be at the level his price tag suggests he should be, gets so much hate from our own fans

Is it hate if you don't think he's a very good footballer who shouldn't be starting especially at the expense of Lamela? If so then I guess I hate him despite actually thinking he's quite professional, good physical condition and works hard. Problem is what he does right now in current form any footballer could, find it embarrassing that a PL player could be said he had a good game just for completing a couple of passes and working hard. You don't get rewarded for supporting a player no one rates, he's not good enough to be in our team simple as.

It’s not Sissoko that’s getting most of the criticism, it’s Pochettino for continually selecting him. Today we have Wanyama (CM) and Lamela (AM) as much, much better options - depending on where he’s playing.

Well you know how I feel about people criticising poch:D

Nearly as hard to understand as the selection of Sissoko is the non selection of Wanyama, regardless of whether we are playing 3421 or 4231 (which is what I think we will).

His last inclusion was ridiculous and it took Poch an eternity to drag him off.

What a load of bollocks. Sissoko played his role perfectly fine against West Ham - that's why Poch "took an eternity" to sub him - because Sissoko had done what Poch wanted up to that point but we were 1 down to a worldie of a goal.

I don't like Sissoko over Wanyama/Lamela either but don't make shit up.

Where's our creativity coming from?!

> Kane, Son and Dele represent 27% of the team.

> Assuming we don't expect our back 5 to be part of the creative effort, they represent precisely half the team.

> Add Sissoko, who is a forward-looking player, and that percentage increases again. Ditto Dembele, if perhaps to a lesser extent.

> There's an argument that Dier is our only non-creative player in front of the back 5.

tl/dr: Our whole goddam team is offensive!

I get some of the frustration with Sissoko - but I think its misplaced. He is not a bad footballer - he is just not always the best fit for our tactics - which requires ball movement in tight places - particularly in the attacking end. As far as I know, Sissoko always gives his best effort - I never see him with a bad attitude on the pitch. And, when a player works hard - he is worth our support.

We don't have a lot of options right now - with Eriksen and Winks out. We could have played Wanyama and Dier together - but that leads to different complaints.

We make do with the players we have - and Sissoko is one of ours. I think he deserves better.

In terms of effort and hard work, he's not a bad footballer. In terms of skill, he absolutely is, and I think that's why he cops so much flak, because typical Spurs attackers can control the ball. But I hope he does well today and keeps working hard.

Starting Sissoko is fine but it puts a lot more pressure on Poch. When a manager makes a questionable selection like that, he simply has to win.

Honestly the Sissoko stuff is fucking boring, suck it up he's playing.
What's wrong with people discussing his inclusion in the match thread?

If people are discussing something I don't like, I don't read it. I don't tell them to stop talking about it.

Sissoko often receives the ball and will power past an opponent but I think he has become nervous and so tends to dwell and think too much which often leads to a misplaced pass.
I think he is a better player than we are seeing and more than likely will look brilliant in a side if and when he leaves us.
