I get that he’s got graft issues, but I’m still surprised that nobody above Leicester in the food chain hasn’t thought he’s worth a punt. Maybe the fee and his wages are putting off some of those that might forgive his work ethic (Roma eg).

On pure talent alone though, he’s ahead of players like Bolasie, Zaha and probably even Mane.

And his lack of work ethic didn’t stop Leicester winning the league and his talent was instrumental in it.

I get why he maybe wouldn’t be right for us, but I am a bit surprised that nobody else has had a good sniff.

Weren't Roma the side most interested in him in the summer? I don't know how much of the Salah money they have left but Leicester's valuation was clearly higher than what Roma were willing to pay six months ago so I guess that would still be the stumbling block.

Ashley Barnes wiki extract

He is being looked at by Chelsea who for some reason are trying to sign any premier league player over the size of 6 ft. He's a complete and utter donkey scoring only 3 goals this premier league season.

Barnes previously played for Paulton Rovers, Plymouth Argyle, Oxford United, Salisbury City, Eastbourne Borough, Torquay United and Brighton & Hove Albion. He has been cappedby Austria at international level, making one appearance for their under-20 team. For some strange reason Chelsea want to sign this donkey”

Furry muff.

He's very talented agreed, i've no doubt other bigger clubs have been interested in him but you're right it's a bit strange none of them have gone in hard for him. Must be more than his unwillingness to track back, although I do think he's severely lazy once the balls gone beyond him.

As for the title win it's a bit disingenuous bringing that up as there were so many factors that led to them winning it, not least the fact that the current big 6 (apart from us) were at their lowest ebb in years and handed it to them on a plate. I realise they still had to win it and he was a big part of that but those set of circumstances will never happen again in our lifetime and no equivalent player will get away with being so uninterested in tracking back in a team going for the title.

Surely Fekir is going to make a big move this summer? Consistently doing the business for Lyon. Pipe dream but would be a great option with Eriksen

Disengenuous ? He scored 17 goals and 11 assists Stevo ? In last season's title win, Hazard got 16 and 5, Alli got 18 and 7. And Hazard 's not exactly the most defensively diligent.

I would be very surprised if nobody takes a punt on Thauvin (Marseilles) soon. 2/3 years ago I would have said he's not worth the gamble, he was almost a carbon copy Lamela, even the way he moves, lefty ARM, talented but erratic, would also get stuck in, but carelessly often, and with a bad rep off the pitch for being playboy who liked his nightclubs.

His loan to Newcastle must of scared the shit out of him, because last couple of years he's really buckled down, upped his game, consistently putting in performances, producing the goods, working hard. 16 goals and 8 assists last season, 8 and 6 already this, I'll be amazed if he isn't in Italy or the PL by net season.

Newcastle actually owned him and loaned him to OM before selling him there the season after.

He's not as good as Hazard and they caught the rest of the league at a time when the biggies were poor and the rest hadn't sussed them out. Throw in an exceptional busy **** in Kante to cover the gaps and he was able to do what he does best.
I'm not doubting his talent but he's inconsistent, lazy and would command a big layout in both transfer and wages.

Being stuck in Newcastle can scare the shit out of anyone.

Half a million pounds every week. Fair play to him for getting the most money but I'll find it rather satisfying if he doesn't win a thing there.

City will surely be hot favourites to win the league for the next few seasons, unless they implode spectacularly, and I doubt United will win the CL. Plus Mourinho has a habit of leaving clubs in a mess after 3 seasons, which is exactly when Sanchez will probably be in decline.

It's united, they have to try and outdo the noisy neighbours.
This is probably the truth of it. You'd think they could get a wonderkid for that money, but then again Mourinho doesn't exactly like developing players.
