I think the last thing someone could accuse me of is not having an opinion on sissoko:D

I think sissoko has been massively scapegoated and the abuse he gets is toxic, he's a player who always tries his best and puts in good physical performances however he does lack quality. But the response is always disproportionate to his performance and today is no different. He was by no means our worst player today but if you looked at this thread you'd think he'd scored a few own goals, kicked poch in the face and put two fingers up to the fans.

And yes I am funny aswell
No sorry buddy you might be funny but Shitokko is fucking shit end of!!!!

Not a lot :D

In all seriousness usually he's in CM in that formation and its a very negative role basically to provide cover so the front 4 and full backs can attack. When he's part of the front 4 that's when it gets very frustrating because he's still got the brakes on - when he gets on his bike and goes at people at least he's dangerous.

It's very frustrating and clearly we could do better - but the vitriol and hate is just nonsense. He was in our top 4 players today. A lot of that is because he's not expected to do what Son, Alli et all are expected to contribute - but he was solid today. Better than Dier and Dembele.

But we need better.

Good post totally agree.
Sissoko is better in cm or right midfield rather than a right attacker as he played today. He can do a solid if unspectacular role as he did today as a right attacker but he is better in a deeper role with his forward runs creating space for others imo

He is always poor. Why? Because he is poor. He can’t really pass. He’s not intelligent on the pitch. His control is awful. His technique is poor. He doesn’t add goals or assists. He’s defensively inept. His decisions are often poor or safe. He’s not even a 6. He’s a 4, 5 tops. We need 7s and 8s, I thought we had left players of this ability in the past. I don’t even think he’s a Premier League player. I think he’d be much more suited to the Championship.

tiger666 hates me:LOL:

Beautiful stuff. Go on man d’oh me again :ROFLMAO:

Maybe deep down I actually really like Sissoko and maybe he’s only pretending to be poor on pretty much all aspects of the game bar physical conditioning.

I don't hate you at all. I just think you're an idiot.

I am not a great fan of Sissoko but I thought in the second half he was one of our better players. The only others to come out with any credit were Vorm and Vertongen. Even Harry Kane was not his usual self. The rest were dire. The whole performance totally lacked cohesion and intelligence.

I’ve not had a chance to read through this thread, how did Sissoko do?
He actually had one of his better games. All he fucked up today was missed an open goal and was largely at fault for their goal. That was it for this instalment.

OK it's getting beyond a bit of banter now so it'll probably be for the best if we all wind it in a little bit

I'll leave you with a song

'soko 'soko

'soko 'soko

Born is the king of white hart lane

:woot:
Ok, ok, it is now confirmed I'm going with the latter explanation.:ROFLMAO:

And yet he keeps getting picked for the French national squad. Are you Tim Sherwood?

I can't remember us stringing many passes together in this game at all and if the narrative is 'Sissoko is shit' it's the most misplaced reasoning for our defeat today.

We lost because as a team we were genuinely not good enough.

Great post as usual. We will agree to disagree on the last part.:D But as you know I have been searching for that.

Just when it looked like we were getting into our stride for the bloody tough 4 games coming up we play like that. Bought back the full on raging hump that the West Ham game gave me. Wrong team, no urgency and giving the opposition exactly what they needed. Poch needs to sort this out of we’ll get spanked at Liverpool and will struggle to get anything from ManU and the Gooners. God knows what Juventus will do to us if we lose those 3 games.

If that Kane chance towards the end nestles in the bottom corner, nobody bats an eyelid about the performance and/or Poch's decision to start Sissoko over Lamela, or to take Son off.

It's clear from reading Poch's post match comments that a number of players out there were affected by illness. The conditions didn't play into our hands either. No, we weren't at the races today but we've played worse than that and won this season. Swansea (A) springs to mind.

As for the Sissoko bashing, it needs to stop. Not his fault we decided to play £30m for him. Regardless of technical ability (and by no means was he the worst player in a Spurs shirt today) he always puts in a shift and for that reason I refuse to criticise him.

We need reinforcements this January. All the talk seems to be about a pacey wide forward but in truth it's the creative midfield role we need to address. With Dele struggling for form, we're one Eriksen injury away from our season being curtailed.

We've got some vital matches coming up in the next month that will define our season. Thankfully, Alderweireld will soon be back to sure up the defence and Wanyama is approaching full match fitness. It's not all doom and gloom!

Up the Spurs.
The thing is he didn't put in a shift today, he goes forward with purpose with the ball but hardly tracks back. He let Bertrand overlap and was out of position for their goal.

This result just confirms that we don't have players of sufficient quality, on the bench, to cover for first teamers who are ill, injured, suspended or out of form.
I agree, but we do have Lamela, Wanyama and Llorente to come on had Poch wanted, early..

He'd be more suited to rugby tbh!

Poch and his baffling substitutions. Every fucking week.

Dare I question why Sissoko is able to avoid the hook?

All in all - shit
