Mate, its SC. You cant criticize Poch on here without people thinking you want him sacked. The love affair most on here has for Poch has spun wildly out of control.
It's not out of control. It's just a reaction to some of the kneejerk posts that you get on here sometimes.

Honestly, I regret posting it. I thought it was a telling stat whether compared with other clubs or not. In my humble opinion 1 goal and 1 assist from 99 sub apps is not good enough but the funny thing is that I wasn't even trying to say it's Poch's fault and if anything it's that he doesn't have the players at his disposal to improve upon this stat. The relevance to Malcom is that, certainly at first, he could be a perfect player to come off the bench and produce something special - particularly with his ability to score from range.

Poch is the best thing to happen to this club but I do agree that even the remote suggestion of him doing something wrong or making an error in judgement can be frowned upon by some on SC. He's not perfect, he's a young, brilliant coach but one that is stil learning and I'm sure he would admit that he has areas for improvement.

Nail on head. The man is quite capable of making mistakes, in fact there cannot be a manager in history that hasn't made mistakes at one time or another. I think that what happens is that it shifts from one extreme to another. People get defensive about him because they might read more into a bit of criticism than it was intended to be. As with any manager, there are always a few that don't take to him for one reason or another and therefore when the club has been on the wrong end of a couple of results, it feels like the 'told you so' element comes creeping in.

You shouldnt regret posting it because people on an internet got way too defensive. You’re right. It isnt good enough at all. It’s terrible, actually. Poch needs to learn how to manage during a game. Saints fans had these same complaints. He has no plan b. I think its because he’s too stubborn. He needs to get over it and fix it when its not working.

If anything, we should bring Malcom in now because he’s another option we could use off the bench instead of having 3 defenders on the bench whenever theres an injury.

The way I see it, pure pace with vision and technique puts you out of our price range. And more importantly wage structure.

The only other kids in Europe you could hold up displaying similar creative talent that Malcom has this season with more raw pace are Bailey and Pulisic.

They would cost a lot more than 45 million, and will have offers from the mega clubs.

I’m all for Malcom. Looks to be a very good passer which is a lovely trait for an inverted winger. As noted he has a great burst which is more important than straight line pace when it’s tight, and he looks to ride challenges very well.

Hope we can get it done for the summer.

Its as if he did not watch the match:
Lamela was given 20 minutes to rescue three crucial points in the race for Champions League qualification; Kieran Trippier was handed 18 and Victor Wanyama six. At 1-1, Pochettino sent on a winger, a full-back and a defensive midfielder in search of a goal, as striker Fernando Llorente looked on.

Lamela - the player who most wanted to start
Trippier - not a planned sub - came on for injured Aurier
Wanyama - on before Dembele picked up a red

Its the Trippier sub that probably cost Llorente a spot - but what are you going to do? Play Llorente at RB?

No. Just trust dembele not to get sent off

You're right, I have assumed because I think the stat on it's own is pretty bad, irrespective of how it compares. You can pretend it isn't without the comparison if you like but I don't need the comparison to know it doesn't look good.

1 goal and 1 assist from 99 appearances.
But every single one of those is a substitute appearance, with almost a third of those likely coming in the last 2-3 minutes or injury time. Those 99 appearances likely total up to under 10 matches’ worth of minutes.

Just seen an article on L'equipe with Poyet and (I think, I don't trust Google Translate) the director saying Malcom isn't leaving this winter. Which I guess we knew. https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Act...martin-malcom-ne-partira-pas-cet-hiver/869168
The President of the club said that he has said again and again that Malcom will not be leaving this winter but that he understands that Malcom like all players would one day like to play in England. Poyet who has just been appointed the coach said that his first question when they started to talk about him joining the club was whether or not Malcom would be leaving this winter and he had been assured he would not.

Pretty clear that if he is joining us it won’t be this season.
