And trying not to be outdone, City announce De Bruyne's new contract a few minutes after.

Also, where does Sanchez even fit into the team? Surely Lukaku will continue to start, which means putting two of Lingard, Martial and Rashford - all of whom have so much potential - on the bench most games.

He's not as good as Hazard and they caught the rest of the league at a time when the biggies were poor and the rest hadn't sussed them out. Throw in an exceptional busy **** in Kante to cover the gaps and he was able to do what he does best.
I'm not doubting his talent but he's inconsistent, lazy and would command a big layout in both transfer and wages.

No he’s not as good as Hazard and I get the rest of what you are saying, but even with all the mitigating factors he’s not just a lazy show pony, he’s very productive, lazy show pony.

Bale was lazy. I’m just a bit surprised nobody fancies buying him and turning him into an auxiliary striker a la Bale, Ronaldo (again, appreciate he’s not that level).

Sanchez left wing maybe. Mourinho doesn't care about potential anyway.

True. Those three must surely be thinking wtf though, privately. No way they're all going to accept regular bench slots.

It’s a tad annoying that they’ve signed a player who’d stroll in to our starting XI.

United didn’t have a better team on paper than us at the start of the season and they probably still don’t, but they get results, win trophies and come next season what’s the betting they’ll have the better side? Frustrating for us. Hard to compete with them figures though I guess.

I think he’ll be a great signing for them.

He'll do well for them but will he be the difference between winning domestic cup or winning the league/CL? Time will tell, but if he isn't, then they've blown a fortune on someone who will lose all value by the end of his contract.

Hope it all goes massively pear shaped for all concerned. 500 k/w is a disgrace, money is killing the game.

Sanchez is an upgrade on all of those, he can play as a wide forward in a 433 or AM in 4231 and as a striker in either.

Sure he's an upgrade right now, that's why I'm assuming he'll start in place of one of those three. I meant more that another talented youngster is going to have their development stunted because Mourinho can only work with the finished article.

Man Utd with the most cringeworthy announcement video of 2018/all time.
Just seen that... Funniest thing is I don't believe that they even sing the "My eyes have seen the glory..." bit...

He's played our version!

I wish people would stop saying this (no offence) money killed the game years ago.
None taken, and you're right, it's just that he earns more in a week than it takes many people 15 years to earn. That's plain wrong.

A new low for Arsenal. 12 years after moving to the Emirates and they’re still getting pushed around by Utd.

Mugs.
It's what they deserve after letting their best player enter the last year of his contract. The Campbell incident was, aside from everything else, fantastic in that Levy vowed to never let that happen to us again, and it hasn't.
